If you haven't seen them, look at the ABC Towns near Stockholm, like Vällingby. The only thing missing from your suburb, is some non-polluting light industrial. The ABC towns were meant to be workplaces (Arbete), homes (Bostad), and shopping town (Centrum). Very cool concept. Way ahead of its time, built in the 1950s as solution to crowded urban centers, without creating more sprawl and traffic. US could use more of this!

I love it. By the way, here in western Germany, metropolitan area of Karlsruhe, every tram path has, at the end of it, a maintenance hall, where the trams can be put it for repair and maintenance purposes. Should think about something like that over there. I live in an end-town for one such rail and it is also a roundabout-rail with 3 central straight parking-rails and an garage with two rails. It's pretty central and surrounded by trees and a park and playground to shield from the noise.

This suburb looks really nice but I'm wondering if it will lack a sense of community. There is a lot of open green space but how the retail/activity area is condensed and separate from being integrated with the housing might make it be quite dissatisfying.

Imagine spending days on a beautiful drawing and you made it look absolutely perfect, and then your 3 year old nephey grabs his crayons and starts ruining it. That's how I feel about those colored intersections. They absolutely nullify the modern vibe of the city in my opinion. I do love the new area though.

@arkilos22533 жыл бұрын
@@LonelyRacoon lol, that is nothing unique to communism, it is very international style of building, you can find in row housing all over the world, famously in the suburbs of London, I am sure you can find such developments in the US as well, as it is ferly inexpensive to build that way rather than having to go through the process and paper work of a house for every single building in a development, if all the buildings are identical you save a lot of time, cost, and money.
@LonelyRacoon3 жыл бұрын
@@arkilos2253 I never argued anything about efficiency or cost. Its just that row houses that akuras built are very stereotypical communist style.
