I’ve watched so many planner videos and the seem to focus on decorating the planner and not how to use the effectively in organization. TFS this video!!

I use a Kate Spade ringbound as my wallet and for notes, but I use a regular A5 hardbound notebook as my bullet journal. While I LOVE planning and decorating, I've learned that I'm more function over design and end up making lists. Like you said, we get drawn to pretty things and end up getting lost.

Love this Video Nikki! !! I do the 15 minutes each night, so I wake up with my day planned. Sleep better too cause it's on paper and out of my head. Learned this from Mary Kay, she taught us the six most important things list...so each night we do that list.

This video was so helpful !!!!! I’ve always failed at planning because I tend to get motivated by the pretty planners, and don’t even use them after a week. But your method seems much doable , I love how you said to not plan your whole week at first, just day by day.. never would of thought of that Thanks 😊

Beautiful planner Nikki!! I use a letter size for my stay-at-home desk business and finance/budget planners, 7 x 9.25 size for my personal and work planners and a half letter for my on-the-go business planner. I custom designed them all and really enjoy using them.

Ms. Nikki, you always put out a video that makes me ask, where was this two years ago before I fell down the rabbit hole, LOL. For 2020, I've decided to just simplify and have a functional system. While I watched the video, I pulled out my Recollections personal size planner that I've never used. I used a personal sized planner when I was in school and it was the best system for me. Three years ago when Michael's first came out with their Creative Year (EC dupe) planners, I used one that work really well for me too. So I'll just use the medium planner for home and the personal size for on the go. Thank you for another great video. I'm sure it helped many who are just starting out and don't know where to turn and semi-veterans like myself how just need to simplify. Have a great day!

Never get an at-a-glance ring bound planner. They look great, they're inexpensive, but they have one more ring than any other A5 planner so you can't use any inserts besides at-a-glance inserts and they have very few types of inserts to choose from.

The way you explained it makes so much sense. I have always had trouble keeping up with planners though I love to write. I literally have notebooks all over my home with ideas and schedules and all sorts of notes but this is the first time that I actually understand how to properly use a planner. I believe not knowing how to really use it has been my problem all along.

I watched your unveiling video of your new LV planner first, and you are so deserving of splurging on yourself, you’ve worked hard and long. Now I’m watching this video and I can’t pinpoint what you said but something you said made me realise I actually need two calendars and a ‘planner’: one for finances, one for the routine household, and a ‘planner’ for a weekly todo list of what needs to be done. I also just watched an older video of yours about having a home project management binder. Such a good idea, it was like a wake up slap in the face of where I’ve been going wrong. Wishing you lots of ongoing success and ideas

Great tips for beginning planners! Starting slow until it becomes habit is key! Years ago I floundered at being consistent using a planner, until becoming self employed required me tracking and planning everything! I couldn’t afford to let things slip through the cracks in my inconsistent use of my planners. I also wasted a lot of money on planners that didn’t suit my needs and thus never made effective planning a habit. Franklin Covey planners saved me and I found the customizable inserts for my specific needs were fantastic! You are so wise to offer so many helpful inserts to let everyone choose what suits their individual life and organizational needs! Bravo, Nikki! Yet another thing you’ve done so well!

Thank you for this video. I’m currently back in school for my masters, I have a family and my 83 year old mother moved in with us. So I have a lot of appointments and school work to keep up with. N when I did finally find one my planning was "write on any page, I open the book on" now I learn to just sit down,25-30 mins a day before I go to bed. I'll reflect on the day n prepare for the next. You're video is very informational. N at the same time helped me actually think about the type if planner I need. A5 was the top choice. Thank you so much

Thank you. That’s really helpful. I bought a Carpe Diem A5 Plain Black planner and have done nothing but look at it. I love to watch the videos, but honestly it looks like the women are playing!. Stickers! Haven’t used one since my kids were in grade school, Markers and such. It’s Fascinating and watching really makes me want to play too but I just keep thinking there must be something more practical to do with this planner then just have one monthly sheet that has my dentist appointment on it. You pointed out some good things. I’m gonna start small like you suggested. I do hope to add exercise/walking routine and Bible reading passages to mine once I pass the 30 days like you said and know I will adopt it as habit. thanks again!
