New follower here. I’m in my 70s and my favorite dress when I was ten was a yellow gingham dress, with patch squares of smaller yellow gingham checks randomly even all over. Loved that dress!!

Fun inspiration. I'm with you on the cargo pants. They are kinda cute, sort of, especially this time around because of the pretty fabrics used, which gives them a dressier feel. But they are super trendy. Love the patchwork dress idea. I used several fabrics in a Wilder Gown, which I loved and got so many compliments on because of it's uniqueness. I look forward to see your new makes.

I love your plans! I have made three Ilford jackets and I love that pattern. So easy, the finish is boxy, but if you use like a linen blend, it may drape more.

The Ilford Jacket has been on my radar for so long now, but I have yet to make it. I love the style!

For an interesting knit top I can vouch for the Viola top by Forget Me Not Patterns. I recently made it in a rayon waffle knit and really like it! I will definitely make more. I also really want to make the Ingrid shacket by Viki Sews

Thank you for the suggestions!!! I will check them out! There are so many vikisews patterns I like, but the way they sell their patterns (in one size) drives me nuts!! Have you purchased from them before? If yes, would you recommend? Good experience/instructions?

@@jaclynsalemwaxtel I've only made one Vikisews pattern so far, the Deborah blouse, and I thought it came together really well. Unfortunately I got the Russian version, but I just followed a YT sew along for it, and the pictures in the instructions were also helpful. It's a fitted top, so the fact that it fits me so well tells me that their sizing is pretty accurate. I'm 35" - 29" - 39" and I made size 38 in their third height bracket. I'm at the lowest end of that height bracket because I'm 5'7" (170cm), so I think I could probably use the second height bracket sizes as well. They also provide the measurements of the model and what size she is wearing.

the sheer black skirt from the runway would be hekkin' easy to do... you could just do your favourite half (or 3/4?) circle skirt and then attach black horsehair braid horizontally all the way up on the inside. Hand tacking would give the most couture result, but you could machine it too since black is so visually forgiving. The model looks like she's wearing it over a slim skirt/lining/slip, which you could do in nude or black.
