Who said that getting Canadian visa is easy? People get a hell lot of rejections unless they have a good profile and other factors. Ppl, US visa is not hard as you think, the thing is check whether you are perfect and everything is legal. This year more than 16 friends of mine flew to Us and visa approved few of them didn't even had loan. So chill guys, all the best.

If it's for Fall 2022, you should have already done those exams. A lot of the Uni's deadline are already close. Ofc there'll be rolling admissions but try finding the deadline. You should be applying by now.

I do not think that it is an ideal path today to go to the US given the increased uncertainty in acquiring a permanent role due to visa rules. I would try Europe. Canada is also in a downward trend. American Dream exists, but what are you willing to pay to get it? $100K? Peace? What for? How many years are you willing to spend in the uncertainty of your Green Card?

Most professors don't like unsolicited e-mails. You should check their WebPage for what they have to say about communication. Other than that, they would normally ask to make a formal application on department website.
