Facts. The civil human thing to do in a situation like that. She needs jail time before being let back into society.

She didn't want to stop because she didn't want to take responsibility or accountability. Its prevalent in our society

A normal person would have freaked out, stopped the car got out and ran to the kid, especially a woman with the motherly instincts.

You should stop even if you came close to hitting someone to ask if he or she is ok, but leaving the scene when you HIT a child is inexcusable

Most people who don’t stop is because they don’t want a DUI added to her charges. Definitely would be jail time.

I suspect she left the scene because she knew she was heavily intoxicated and wanted to wait until she sobered up before surrendering.

Another channel said the girl was 12-years old. Even though the child's injuries were minor, I hope she quickly recovers. As for the hit and run driver, they need to throw the book at her. There was no excuse for her to have fled the scene. She should have gotten out of the car to check on the child. As a father and grandfather, an incident like this raises the hair on my head thinking what if that child was my child or grandchild?

Pathetic! Hit a baby and drive off! She didn't care about the welfare and safety of the child. Poor baby. I'm glad she's alive and that she was able to walk away. Let us remember to keep our children covered in prayer.

The reason she left the scene is absolutely clear. She did stop for a few seconds, but when she saw the girl get up and appear unhurt, she thought it is okay to drive off. This exact same thing happened to me when I was hit by a turning car in front of me, while I was riding my bike. The driver realized I was hit and stopped about 20 feet away. When I stood up, it sped off. It was never caught.

Absolutely EXPECTED behavior on the road in Dallas. People hit and run more often than they hit and stay, unfortunately. Dallas drivers deserve their insurance premiums, #1 in the country for traffic fatility rates. SHAMEFUL

"I panicked. I didn't know what to do". Likely excuse. ANY good human being knows what the right thing to do in this situation. Driving away and leaving someone after hitting them with your car is a scumbag move. I'm so sick of people and their excuses for deciding to be criminals.
