I noticed at 5.43 and 6.05 that there are small shrubs or saplings growing on the side of the pond bank. Nature is colonising your hard work. Can't wait to see what the area around the pond looks like in a few years.

I'm sure it will be a beautiful sight along the pond. Yes, there is a good bit of growth starting already. Thanks for watching as always.

You don't have to use 4 T posts for each tree Simon. One or two pieces of rebar laced through the wire is all you need. Make your wire basket large enough in diameter that most of the leaves and side branches will be protected. But some deer pruning around the edges won't hurt. In fact, it helps to force energy into the central leader. Once the tree is out of the basket, you can recycle everything easily.

I'll keep that in mind on the next go round. Thanks for following along with the project as always and the idea.

I have a lot more time to think about doing work at the ranch than actually doing it for now, at least. Thanks for the compliment and watching as always.

@@TimelineRanch I've often found the time thinking and planning is what makes the actual doing effective. No doubt your long drives and time away from the ranch is helping the project in that regard.
@TimelineRanch
@TimelineRanch 22 сағат бұрын
@wojomojo In some aspects, I would agree, but the amount of productivity would drastically increase if I was at the ranch full time. In the ten years of working at the ranch off and on all the trips, don't add up one full year's worth of time. Imagine what the ranch would look like if I had been there for ten years working daily on it.

They are unique, I would say, and turned out, looking quite nice for what they were made from. It was a good bit of work, but the stairs will outlast me, and that's how I try to build things. Thanks for following along with the project as always.

Good morning. Will be excited to see how your garden does when the mule deer won't be able to eat it.

Good morning. I think the fenced off section will look completely different without the deer having access. Thanks for watching as always.

Beautiful land and projects. You mentioned cooking on the stove and needing to fill and seal the limestone. A two burner induction cooktop is pretty cheap and efficient. You can put it anywhere and keep your stove area natural and beautiful.

Thanks for watching the project and the compliment. I do have two induction cooktops I use at the ranch, but my battery bank is small, so I only use them during the day when I have plenty of power. The little wood burning stove is a nice alternative for the cold season anyway for cooking at night.

Great to see new trees entering the picture. Can you have olives over there?
@TimelineRanch
@TimelineRanch 22 сағат бұрын
I did a little research into olive trees growing in Texas. The results weren't very good. I believe I'll still give them a try at the ranch to see how it goes. Thanks for following along with the project as always.

I was surprised to see water in it too this time of the year it's not common to have not much rainfall. I usually don't finish my to-do list, but I found the bigger I make it, the more I get done, it seems. Thanks for following along with the project.
