Am I mistaken, or would it be more grammatically correct to refer to a population of mice as a mouse population, not a mice population? The same grammatical concept applies, I believe, when referring to that rodent’s eradication and contraception.

We need to implement the rodenticide plan as soon as possible to save the Ashy Storm Petrel, Farallon Camel Cricket, and Farallon Island Arboreal Salamander. The other methods mentioned by those opposed to rodenticides are not practical logistically, not effective, and unproven.

You haven't a clue of what you are talking about. This isnt' the 19th century where we stupidly deal with inconvenient species via poisoning them and then wonder out loud why is the immediate ecosystem collapsing or why are other species dying and or producing deformed offspring.

They need to do it very carefully. Any poisons, pesticides and chemicals used will spread. Even into the ocean. It needs to be done. Just very carefully. Or we could inadvertently make the situation even worse.
