Thank you❤ for helping this baby. I stopped for something small being attacked in the middle of our road...it was an injured baby screech owl, our game warden said it's common for crows to kill the babies and we have no one to take it but you can try to save it just make sure you don't keep it as a pet. I did my best and one night while he was practicing his flying he went to one of our big trees out back then for several years he would visit and sit on the rail he left from make a couple tiny screeches then leave. ❤

This is a lifelong commitment. It’s one of the meaningful and enriching experiences anyone can have , raising and earning the trust of an orphaned baby animal, but it is hard. And time consuming and often very expensive to keep them safe and give them proper nutrition. As beautiful as this is I hope the people watching it know you can’t just let an animal go in the wild after it reaches full growth, you are responsible for it. Owls bond to humans that raise them like they would a life mate and they need you to take of them for their whole life, and when they do eventually die from old age it’s like losing a child. The same goes for any wild being.
