Thank you for this knowledge. Can an Area Takeoff be copied and converted into Grid? I'm trying to takeoff trenching/Saw cutting that contains multiple Segments with total Area approx. 3,000 sq ft.

Hi , How can I create a rebar in slab template that contains an upper and lower mesh with the rebar size in the upper mesh being different than the lower mesh using the grid tool?

I am unable to get your !sum total to calculate correctly. A 20 x 20 with grid 18" OCEW including the perimeter should total 600 lf but your calculation stays @ just the interior 520 lf.

Your "parent" is the grid tool takeoff and somewhere either as QTY or a custom field, you should have the formula: RoundUp([!Sum(Linear Total)]). That should add the perimeter of the grid tool takeoff with all the "child" entries below it. Those entries shown as "Grid Lines - #" When I reproduce your area I get 600 LF for a QTY on the takeoff and 520 LF on the Grid Lines - 0 entry. You don't have to use the RoundUp and can use just [!Sum(Linear Total)]. Also, make sure you are on at least version 10 of PlanSwift. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I should make these more often. There is so much potential in PS that most people don’t realize.
