According to the RDA, I should be eating 60-80 grams of protein a day. I eat around 200 grams. I'm 54 and I do strength training 3 times a week. I've never been stronger or happier with my health. I plan on sticking to this for the rest of my days. About half of my protein comes from meat and eggs and the other half comes from whey protein shakes with heavy cream and butter in them.

I’m at approximately 50 grams of carbs and 130 grams of protein per day. I lift weights 4 times per week and walk or jog 1.5 to 2 miles 4 times per week as well. I’m 47 years old. This seems to fit within my threshold. Everyone is different. Find your own limits. I have tried full carnivore, but I have a problem with electrolytes. Again, find what works for you! I’m not diabetic. I come from a family of diabetics. I know what works for me. This is a lifetime commitment. If you want to take care of yourself, it’s worth it!

Just some facts. There are about 7 areas on Earth, the so-called Blue zones, where people become very healthy over the age of 100. What is striking is that they all eat very little or no meat. In addition, there are absolute top athletes such as Hamilton and Djokovic who make their performances on a plant-based diet. A request to Fr. Gebrielle. When will you, to compensate for all those people who support your views, invite Stanford's Professor Christopher Gardner for a interview?

Ezekiel bread was one of my favorites when I was 55lbs heavier then I am now, it’s one of the things I cut out along with other processed carbs Ezekiel bread is unfortunately a processed carbohydrates and should be eaten sparingly, if at all. Whole wheat berries Vs whole wheat berries that have been pulverized and made into a slice of bread are digested very differently- Robert Lustig has been a wealth of knowledge helping me understand that bread is a treat and not a way to get protein or nutrients

While there is good information here it’s not fair, or factual, to scare parents about feeding their children a vegetarian diet. My son, and many others I know, were raised vegetarian and of course with breast milk at an early age. They all grew up strong, smart and athletic. If they had been fed processed foods rather than high quality vegetarian food I’m sure their health would have suffered. My point is that not all plant based diets are the same. If parents do their research and use high quality vege protein, fats and carbs then there’s no need for meat. Just look at all the top athletes in the world who are vegetarian.

Wrong. The Paleolithic Age extends between 2.5 million years ago until about 10,000 years ago - the cusp of the Agricultural Revolution, and a relative eye-blink in evolutionary time. The Paleo diet focuses on food people were probably eating before domesticated cereal crops were the staples. Pastoralism was also a thing, as humans discovered the benefit in domesticating the animals they ate.

Reading your comments is like watching a cartoon where the dupe keeps stepping on rakes every direction he tries to go, getting smacked in the face every time. Humans have a very SHORT digestive system compared to other apes. It is also much more acidic than the system of a herbivore. That is how biologists know that humans are adapted primarily for meat-eating. In fact, the ONLY essential nutrients for humans are found in animal products.

What about the fat in meats? Even grass-fed meat fat is problematic if eaten too much. Your total fat calories should not be more than 10% of you daily calorie intake. Plant based diet reduced metabolic disease burden. Eggs and Milk in moderation are very good foods. But too much of meat will overshoot your fat allowance.

Everything in your comment is incorrect. You are the victim of the weaponization of science in pursuit of profit. It is entirely possible that everything you believe about proper human diet is wrong. Humans have cutting teeth, including the molars. You should have some - feel them for yourself. Sharp sides with a valley between. Plant-eaters have flat teeth like mill stones.
