Key notes: Biodegradable plastic and bio plastic are 2 different things 100% recyclable is not 100% Biodegradable (oil based plastics are 100% recyclable) These are sugar cane based meaning they provide a base or additional ingredients.
@brianbice14272 жыл бұрын
You forget to mention, oil-based plastics are 100%recyclable but only a very small percentage is recycled and take anywhere from 250 - 1000 years to break down, while breaking down release a very dangerous gas, the particles after a breakdown are ingested by humans and animals without knowing that and are cancer-causing agents. Bioplastics break down within a year and are edible to humans animals and fish.

So still packing with plastic that wont decompose => nothing solved when it comes to our plastic problem. Also, you guys say your packaging is recyclable, but the many different layers and materials make it so its not recycled by most places.

The best part of Brazilian sugar cane is that it's produced by a hyper exploited workforce making it cheaper than American sugar cane. Otherwise I don't know why it's any better than good ol' Louisiana sugar cane.

This concept is quite misleading. Yes it is bio-based. But the the main question here is whether it is biodegradable or not?
@iaap6543 жыл бұрын
It doesn't in natural environment. Only in industrial environment that is special for BIOplastic (very high temperature over long period of time). Which means you must separate it from any other plastic. If so little as a spoon of petroleum plastic ends up in 1 tonne of bioplastic, the whole tonne will be waisted and not biodegrage.

@@iaap654 well in that case this isn't worth it🙆🙁
@iaap6543 жыл бұрын
@@chetnashekhawat1094 exactly. But they sell it very well anyway: it's (kinda) "green" since you don't use oil to produce plastic. And they (of course) don't mention that it's not biodegradable. So people only get to see one side of the medal. And they think that the problem is solved.

Hi there! I am a filmmaker currently putting together a mini-documentary about sugarcane burning in the Florida Glades. In it, I touch on the use of sugarcane as fuel and its use in the production of other products. I am reaching out because, with your permission, I'd like to use some of this footage in the film. If this is possible, please let me know the best email to reach you with more details and a release form. Thank you so much for your time and patience!

Properties or real bioplastics: Bio plastics don't require expensive recycling processes. Bio plastic degrade if dropped on the ground or composted (dont 100% rely on water, oxygen etc.)
