ciao. volevo chiedervi alcune cose perchè sono molto interessato alla Plant-e. -Nell'elettrodo di carbonio superficiale ( panno di carbonio), non capisco cosa fate con il filo elettrico, lo attorcigliate nel panno? quindi non è isolato? -Che piante acquatiche avete usato? - Quale da miglior rendimento? -avete provato a collegarci qualche led o un motorino? scusate le domande ma veramente mi interessa tantissimo questo sistema e vorrei capirlo al meglio. Spero mi possiate rispondere presto. PS: Sono da Pozza di Fassa. Mi sono laureato in Scienze Ambientali ( Ca' Foscari Venezia) e ora sto seguendo i corsi della Laurea Magistrale Scienze Ambientali: Valutazione e gestione dei sistemi ambientali sempre a Ca' Foscari.

ciao Natale, non so se poi hai portato avanti l'esperimento. Io ho provato a farlo diversamente, uno strato di metallo (magnesio), terra, uno strato di filo di rame e poi la pianta. Ogni pianta da 1.6V DC (Direct Current) ma riesce ad illuminare solo la LED fornita da plat-e (quella mostrata nel video per intenderci) e non una LED da sola a contatto diretto. Penso che nel circuito fornito da plant-e ci sia un capacitor o altri elementi che aiutano e stabilizzano il flusso di corrente. Se vuoi condividere i tuoi risultati fammi sapere

No he says: 181mV and 10uA = 0.181V*0.00001A= 0.00181mW. I think he will get higher power after a while, as it is mainly starch sugars in the soil that powers this fuelcell and he just potted these plants! The Dutch company making these kits have a roof garden with a few sq metres of this, and they can charge a phone, but not exactly disclosing the amount of Watts / sq metre to expect in their info material!! Still better than a lot of energy harvesting techniques. This could be used with air dropped dart shaped sensors, that could be bombed on a forrest to transmit Soil information like acidity, temperature, perticipation?

It's a Dutch company that makes the Plant-e kits, they have a few non informative videos. However for two stainless wires, a graphite sponge and a 5$ multimeter, the 69$ kit is quite expensive. It should be easily reproducable with household materials. Carbon infused foam is used in air- and aquarium filters, but anything that is conducting and permable to air should work.
