This is a great add-on product we use and there is data supporting that it increases shade tolerance which is great for all the Bermuda turf.

hey matt. I haven't caught a live show in a month or so....but I was out today putting down PGR on my yard, and some of my commercial property mowing account/customers. Hoping to knock down the mowing frequency on the commercial accounts while improving the turf color and density. Hoping on in the right track. I bought the big jug (2.5 gallon) container of T-nex, which came out cheaper by the ounce. Now im going to sit back and enjoy the video. Keep this content coming....I learn SO much from these videos. I need to go back and review your Nutsedge program too. Its becoming a big issue in a few of my customer yards.

I can only speak to Bermudagrass, but DO NOT combine T-NEX 1AQ with broadleaf weed control products. I learned the hard way. Being emulsified concentrate diminishes the selectivity of the weed control.

Thanks for the great information as always. I came here to say I felt the video editing style was a little awkward for me; taking long breaks in the middle of thoughts to play music that’s much too loud took me out of the moment and made it hard to focus on the content of the video. The format I personally enjoy the most is the PowerPoint slideshow with your face in frame and you explaining in real time. This critique is meant to be constructive in nature to help your channel, one that’s helped me turn my yards around, be the best and most accessible it can be. Thanks for doing what you do!

Perfect timing for this video Matt as I am using T-Nex for the first time this season. Looking forward to some great results. Since you mention the risk of overapplying in the video, I wanted to ask what you recommend the frequency schedule of application be for a Midwest lawn (KBG, Rye, fescue mix) in NW Indiana near Chicago. I don't mow low. I keep mine at around 3.5" in the spring and up to 4-4.25" during the peak summer months of July/August. My first application was just last week on May 31st. I had hoped to start earlier in the season but the month of May was very, very wet for us and offered no window of opportunity for applying without the lawn being wet. We received over 18" of rain throughout the month of May, which set a new record. Luckily our temps stayed cool with only 1 day being in the low-80's. The remainder of the month our temperatures ranged from the 30's to 60's. We even had snow and a 50 degree variance in temperature all within a 72-hour period the first week of the month. A very weird month to say the least. Having said that, I also took the precaution of applying a fungicide preventative in Scott's Disease-Ex at a rate of 2# per 1k when I applied my PGR. Thanks in advance for any info. As always, your videos are very helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to put them out.

@@TheGrassFactor I just posted a question on the Lawn Care Forum. I would love to get your opinion. I know about GDD's and I have KBG height of cut (HOC) at 2.5" - 3". I had planned on using ~250 GDD's at 0° C (S.E. Minnesota) as a baseline, but the person said that because my HOC is taller, I should use more like 350 GDD's. This is the first time I've heard or read that the HOC is a factor regarding GDD's. I know I may need more product compared to say, a 1/2" HOC, but just assumed the GDD's would be the same. Your input is appreciated. (I will be using T-Nex)

Great video Matt. What about using a PBR with Hydretain? Curious to know if this could be a benefit in that the Hydretain would allow the Humidity in the air being pulled into the plant as water nourishment? Which would mean even less watering cycles in the hot summer months? I understand that a PBR can reduce disease stress like brown patch and other fungi but would the combination of the Hydretain make it worse? Thanks, Ed

Matt, I made the mistake of overapplying sedgehammer on certain areas of my bermuda lawn. I've been struggling to get these areas to fill back in. I'm on the N-ext biostim pack and I've applied the air8, humic acid, and RGS with extra lovin to those areas. The smaller areas are beginning to fill in from outside edges but the larger areas are still struggling. After watching this video I'm sure the t-nex isn't helping. Currently using a JD 220 E-Cut. Is it possible the GTC is preventing the runners from spreading across these patches? Ideas?

@TheGrassFactor
@TheGrassFactor 5 жыл бұрын
@@JN-yn3sq AH gotcha. Depending on your HOC, it's likely you don't need to be using your GTC. Higher HOC, less need for GTC. It's typically designed for greens HOC. I notice a lot of runners actually pulled up and damaged by GTC and therefore only use it when its over grown

@@TheGrassFactor would you recommend avoiding the use of a PGR on a non irrigated turf in the heat of summer? I assume once it does brown out it will take even longer to recover. Also, how about using PGR on taller HOC?
@TheGrassFactor

Taller height of cut is fine, and non irrigated is fine, it does recover without much delay. I applied to drought stress turf. It greened up with one rain
