"could be doing better but has some alive parts" is honestly so relatable. Both for my plants and for my life in general

Your joy & enthusiasm for each new leaf is contagious. Your plants did wonderful while you were away. No worries, you will be pest free before you know it. By the way, you remind me of my joy for houseplants that I had when I was your age. A couple of those original houseplants are still with me & growing well after about 40 years.

I think the Pastazanum is not a Pastazanum but a Dean McDowell due to the texture of the leave, the color, the lopes and the red cataphyl. If you have time, please double-check. Love your updates

Welcome back:) When my plants had thrips pretty bad, I soaked some of them in water for about 10-15 minutes, to kill of the bugs. Just the plant part, not the soil part🙃 Maybe that will work for the compacta. Good luck with the treatments❤️🌿
@aniliname3 жыл бұрын
Good luck! I had a bad case of thrips and learned that they bury their eggs within the plant tissue, so every time I thought I took care of them, new babies were born. That lasted a very long time. In the end, only systemic pesticide helped me.

It’s so nice to see your plant progress Tate! So many beauties. I can always appreciate a pest treatment video. Been dealing w some myself! I would also be curious to see if you have any recommendations on ways to maximize light in a small space/small home, grow light recommendations, etc. Sending good vibes from NJ! 🪴

Your collection has grown so much since we last saw it, how exciting! Good luck with the mealies. I struggle with mealies more than any other pest. Though honestly if I HAD to choose between mealies and spider mites or thrips 😳, I would definitely choose mealies.

Get a bunch of lady bugs and fill your room up with them! They’ll help you take care of the infestation while battling them. 😊 Pls make videos of you cutting back your plants and propagating, cleaning plants etc.
@nataliaH283 жыл бұрын
This just tells you not to overthink plants. Just let them do their thing and they gonna grow and maybe even bloom! Well good luck with the mealies, I just found some on my Hoya Compacta too. That's gonna be fun 😂👌

That was so fun! I’m about to leave my plants for 3 weeks and seeing how good your plants did after 3 months was encouraging! And on the positive side I think mealy bugs are the easiest pest to treat. 💚👍

Loved watching this!! I’m leaving for college in four days and my mom is taking care of most of my plants while I’m gone. I’m moving to an apartment and have my own room so I get to take my favorites/expensive plants with me but watching this makes me kinda excited for when I come back during breaks and get to check out the rest and their new growth :)

I love your dark lord! Mine is finally putting out leaves after I moved it outside. Though I did have a period where it was putting out ripped leaves. I finally got it to stop doing that.

Your plants are so beautifful! Talking about pests, I lost several of my baby plants to an invasion of fungus gnats... Sigh.
@aniliname3 жыл бұрын
You may just want to go for systemic to get rid of those pests. Water the plants with it, wait a few days and they'll die off on their own without having to spray them all constantly.
@TatesPlants3 жыл бұрын
Yeahhh I'm thinking of my plan of attack. Will probably do a sweep through removing as many as i can find then do the systemic to hopefully knock out any outliers
