Plantain first spread across North America with the addition of Europeans, and at one time was even referred to as "white man's foot print", as it followed the settlers' activities, and was practically stamped in their tracks. A delicious addition to any diet it is also great for bee stings, bug bites and stinging nettle rash, and may even be a natural bug repellant.

Wow! I just ate the leaves and flowers of broadleaf plantain just like you did, a while ago, here in yard in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! The broadleaf plantain is everywhere in Malaysia - in pavement cracks, sidewalks, roadsides, ditch sides, open fields, plantations etc. I have many of them in my yard, growing happily with other edible weeds (pepper elder, stone breaker, fringed spider flower, vernonea cinerea), I ate all of them, been eating them for years, as salads, cooked veggie, juice..

I can see that you were lying on field of ground ivy/Glechoma hederacea (probably) - that heart-shaped leafs. If so this plant is also very healthy (for example boosts immune system and gives energy) and very very aromatic. I would reccomend to try it raw or as herbal tea. :)

@@sabrinawanderer7560 good idea to learn as much as you can first, and transplant it in your yard. Roadside collection isn't a good idea, unless it's some backwoods dirt road. Have fun!

Thanks for the video. Question: Do those holes in the leaf indicate an insect has eaten through it?
