As the sudden new owner of a tree removal and trimming service, your channel has already brought me such a great wealth of knowledge. You've pointed me in the direction of some great resources and as such, I am on my way to becoming ISA certified. Thank you so much for creating your channel.

Thank you! Do you have any instructions on how to properly clean your garden tools?

I’m a huge fan of the bypass pruner. I like the corona one which is made of all metal except a rubber dipped handle. They have one with changeable blades now which is pretty useless. I also use a bastard file for sharpening them, along with my cane and corn knives. I can get it to shave hair with a filet, takes a bit of time, and usually don’t need it. Thanks for all the information you give us.

As a landscaper there are a few tools I would add ,but overall you did a great job.

Good sharpening tip, but you need to use a flat file (as you did). A “rat tail” file that you mentioned has a round cross section, and should not be used. Perhaps a slip of the tongue?

I sharpen (or hone) and oil every day. I wax my holster every week. Buy a proper 2 sided diamond plate as a file doesn't leave a good edge(it'll cost $15)

Japanese tools all day. I use sharpening stones as recommended by the Japanese tool makers. Steel files are not recommended.
