Wow just wow!! You’re so knowledgeable, passionate and detailed. I’ve been suffering for 5 months and I’ve just went through your video twice, applying your recommendations to myself. I sincerely felt immediate relief to the point it made me cry. I am so blessed to have found your video out of thousands and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring so much.

As a massage therapist, I've had some experience treating planter fasciitis. The information and ways to treat you've detailed in your video are very helpful. It is important that people are also aware of their own health conditions before doing any deep tissue body work. Just keep in mind there are several contraindications to deep tissue work. It might help to reinforce a disclaimer. This said, I'm informed and found this video very useful! Gretchen

I'm going on more than 5 weeks of level 5-10 pain; sometimes requiring me to be completely weightless on my heel for entire days, despite endless icing and stretching. I can't thank you enough for this video; I'm going to spend the next couple days working these techniques. Thank You!

@@freeheelpainhelp Follow up: After one day of your techniques way back then, I was able to walk/run almost two miles on my treadmill. I still remember how magical it was. Nine years later, I still share this video with anyone/everyone I know (and STRANGERS) who tell me they're suffering from plantar fasciitis. I am still in a debt of gratitude to you and so happy to see that you're still at it!

I stumbled upon your videos and website while researching ways to cure my PF (like I do every few months it seems) that I've had for over a year now. Like you I surf a lot and have always led an active barefoot lifestyle, so PF was the worst thing that could ever happen to me! I've gotten it somewhat under control in the last few months but it keeps rearing it's ugly head and won't completely go away! I've had other back injuries and I am familiar with digging into the muscles and scar tissue. I also use a lacrosse ball for my back. So I started using that on my feet as well. But where I failed is in the rest of your treatment with scraping and dynamic stretching. I went to a sports therapy masseuse and they said my calves and achilles were tight and I assumed that was from the PF, but didn't realize it was causing or keeping the PF from going away. The way you describe everything in your videos and website and articles is amazingly clear and makes soooo much sense! I stayed up til 4:00am last night reading and watching everything on there. I really appreciate you putting all the time and effort into all of this for people like me! I feel like I have all the info I need to beat this just from your videos and website, but I will still purchase your book because I am such a fan and want to contribute to helping others out there with this debilitating injury. Maybe I'll see you out in the water someday! Thanks again and much respect!!!

Your videos were extremely helpful. I found the rolling pin better than wall calf stretches or heel raises. I am hopeful that the rolling pin, scraping and stretching will give me vast improvement. I am ready to commit to these. Thank you

This is an awesome video!! Thank you. I did already get rid of my PF 8 yrs ago by getting rid of trigger points in my calves. Most of the ones that caused my PF was in my upper calf, just below the knees. That area was super, super tight and it took me two weeks to work through it, but I have been 8 yrs PF free!!! I got the info off of Clair Davies, Trigger Point Therapy Workbook. Love how you talk about balancing the muscles and what they do. Very good. Thank you!

It has already helped me immensely, I have to say two days ago agony, could not walk at all without the heel pain and a new burning pain. After trigger points two days in a rowe and taping I am getting some relief. The rolling pin is a great idea to find the areas that are bad, then use the knee, this is a deja vu for me I went through this all two years ago, I should have kept up with it.

p.s. even though I had Clair Davies book and it has helped with other problems, like frozen shoulder your first video is what first got me to realize how I could fix this awful foot pain,

How often would you recommend doing the trigger point therapy? daily, a few times a day? a few times a week? and should I not stretch at all while I am doing this. cause right now I am doing calf and foot stretches several times a day, and was told to stretch before bed and before I walk in the morning to keep from re-tearing it. I also roll a ice bottle on the bottom of my feet a few times a day to keep down inflamation. I appreciate all the info. Shirley.

Thanks for the tips! I just ordered your Survival Kit. If it works, I'll write a killer review for you! I've had plantar fasciitis for almost 20 years! My podiatrist says its the worst case he's seen, but I don't even bother seeing him anymore because he never has anything useful for me. About 15 years ago my podiatrist removed on of my seismoid bones, just below the ball of the big toe, because he said that was part of my problem. I'm very limited in how much time I can spend on my feet, and sometimes, like last night, I just can't sleep because of the pain. Mostly I don't do much except stay off of my feet because I often feel hopeless about it all. I've been taking Wobenzyme per your recommendation for about 3 months, but haven't noticed any difference. My pain is not in the heal, but instead more generally in the arch. As my case is more on the chronic side than others might be, I'm hoping the kit will help distinguish what techniques would work best for me. I'm looking forward to receiving it!

Great information! Just one thing that concerns me is the lack of caution about the possibility of a blood clot in the calf. A clot in the calf is very different type of pain and it will ache more in the calf and not so much in the foot. BUT if you DO have a blood clot in the calf, using a rolling pin in this way may very well dislodge it and the result can be deadly or worse (stroke, heart attack). One must be very careful if there is unexplained pain in the calf. The rest of the information is fantastic!

So myofascial release therapy and myofascial trigger point are the same or its different? N if its different ..wats d difference?
@xxxafterglow5 жыл бұрын
Mayofascial release is the release of trigger points, or what is colloquially called a “knot” in the muscle.

Okay. I've got a question. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, I'll give you a bit of background. I do not walk. I use a wheelchair but I can stand long enough to transfer myself. Is Planter Fascitis common with Cerebral Palsy as well. I should also add if I don't wear supportive shoes. my feet turn in kind of like how you described in this video
@freeheelpainhelp9 жыл бұрын
Cerebral palsy and plantar fasciitis having a connection is hard to say. If your feet are in a bad position, and you do not walk, your feet could be very very weak, and the first thing to break is the plantar fascia for you. I am unsure though, you may want to ask your doctor.

I've had PF for two years....exercise has become hard because now I think the tension in my calf muscles and quads is affecting my knees as well. my entire calf feels like one big trigger point!
@freeheelpainhelp8 жыл бұрын
+bendietrees Sounds like your shoes are to blame. Calves become short from wearing shoes with elevated heels/toe crowding toe boxes/ excessively cushioned shoes
@bendietrees8 жыл бұрын
+PlantarFasciitis SurvivalGuide thank you for responding. I think you're right....I bought a pair of nikes and ever since I started using them my knees started acting weird, though i really don't spend that much time in them. They have a fairly wide toe box, but they do feel like they raise my heel too much and make my entire foot feel unstable. I've been using them without my arch supports lately and they're a little better but I'll have to look into upgrading to a more appropriate pair. I've been massaging my feet and ankles nearly every night too btw and I think it has made a difference, it's just hard on my hands so I can't get in there as hard as I'd like. I feel like I step too much on the outside of my foot as that area is often quite sore, probably more than my actual arch.
@Xoyaga8 жыл бұрын
My inner gastronomes muscle is so tight that if I try to massage it, it cramps! But slowly I'm loosening out the knots.... I have fallen arches, plantar fasciitis, tight calves, Charlie horses, and painful sore knees. I'm pretty sure they're all connected ....
@freeheelpainhelp8 жыл бұрын
Yes, all connected. And not fun! Make sure you have enough minerals. Bone broth is great source. Muscles love to stay in spasm if you do not have enough minerals, especially magnesium.

You give so much information. I have to say though, you have lovely feet and toes, so I enjoyed watching the demo with the ball! :-) I've had mild planta fascitis for a while, but I'm just doing the massage on the calf with the rolling pin as well as some other exercises in 1 of your other videos. I've noticed a bit of a difference. x

Sorry, but this just does not work--- particularly along the IT Band area. No amount of massage will reduce the tension in this area in the long term. These-- along with scraping-- are simply temporary measures to relieve some small measure pain. It will return again-- every morning.
@freeheelpainhelp10 жыл бұрын
Not for me and not for many other people. Read about Graston Technique/ASTYM/Active Release Technique and Trigger Point Therapy. There is a reason that doctors and physical therapists use these therapies, because they give long lasting results. If you are not getting results, you should try going to a soft tissue mobilization expert that knows what they are doing, and they will give you results.
@hammill44410 жыл бұрын
Well, I guess it gives long lasting results to some. But certainly not to all. And for those people, there's precious little in the way of hope left. This is by no means a "magic bullet": One cannot keep working on trigger points endlessly, for months and months and months on end. The pain just never fades. At some point, one just has to live with it.
@hammill44410 жыл бұрын
PlantarFasciitis SurvivalGuide The reason-- I suspect-- that doctors and physical therapists use these therapies is more financial than anything else: it keeps people coming back over and over again, hoping desperately that it will work-- this time. It's a good technique in and of itself---but no "cure" for PF.
