Hello gardeners! In this video our Plant Records and Taxonomy Specialist Zac Hill talks about fragrant flowers, beautiful foliage and ornamental fruit in the garden. While many perennials start to go dormant in fall, for others it is their time to shine. We love the bitter almond smell of the tree verbena and fruity fragrance of Autumn olive, Toad lilies bring a splash of color to the shade garden, and Hardy citrus drops its bright yellow fruit while the native Possumhaw berries are still green on the branches.
Many of the featured perennials are available for sale through the Plant Delights Nursery and every purchase supports the garden.

We specialize in rare, and unusual perennials and we strive to carry a wide selection of exotic plants, cold hardy tropical plants, and native plants. Many of our best perennials are available nowhere else in the US as they represent rare plants collected by Plant Delights founder Tony Avent during his more than 60 plant hunting expeditions to places like China, Crete, Taiwan, South Africa and Argentina or distributed by some of the many specialty plant organizations of which Plant Delights is a member.
