Good morning! Oh how I love to start my Pennsylvania day with another one of your amazing videos! It's pretty much the same every day....make the coffee, feed the cat, Wordle Today, and 7am....Laura and family! I'm a 61 year old retired teacher who now spends the best part of her day playing in the dirt after another one of your inspirational videos! Yesterday I took my hole punch to all my current plant tags and then put them on one of 3 metal clip rings...sun, shade, part sun/shade....because it brought me joy to organize lol. So when I was watching you label your tomatoes in the video....I was wondering if it would work out to hole punch each tomato tag and either clip it to the top ring of the tomato cage with a metal clip or zip tie. Just a thought.....knowing how big your tomatoes get, having the tag on the top ring of the cage might be easier to find. Again, thank you for bringing joy to all our lives each day!

FYI ABOUT THE WIZZ, if you don’t know already, that lever where the seeds are coming out, that is a curb/sidewalk guard. Meaning, that if you push it forward, it creates a straight line so the stuff comes out straight right there and not fanned out, to protect the sidewalk, or whatever you want, from getting anything on or in it. I have one and it’s pretty dang cool🥰

Dang, Laura, did you have any room left in your Van's for your feet? 😂🤣😂🤣 That was a crazy amount of dirt you poured out.😱 Do you not have to put shade cloth over your tomatoe plants during the Summer? Here, in AZ (Zone 9b), we have to shade cloth our tomatoe plants. If we don't, they dry up and put out hard tomatoes; not edible. Perhaps you don't have to, due to your humidity? Or do you not have humidity? Such a nice variety of tomatoes and peppers that you planted in this video. The flower cutting shed really POPS with that white paint!🤩 It is getting so close to being complete. I am getting excited to see it shining in its' glory. Have a Blessed and Beautiful day everyone! Aaron has a new toy 🤣🤣🤣🤣 He's like a big kid and I love it.. we sold that spreader when I worked at Home Depot. Sold quite a few of them honestly. Also have you seen the tags that are metal and you can use a pen and write on them and it basically engraves it into the metal without the ink... Then it has wire twist ties at the end. Then you wouldn't have to worry about the ink rubbing off. Saw them on another channel and thought they were an awesome idea. Also being from GA ( The South as we like to call it ) I can't wait to eat a good ol "mater sandwich" this summer.. white bread .mayo ..good ripe tomatoes and salt with a ton of black pepper... A southern delicacy 🤣🤣🤣

Homegrown tomatoes and peppers sound so very yummy. The Garden area next to the house has certainly thrived it looks so green and bushy and inviting. I loved watching Paul and Aaron work on that ground and putting grass seed and trying out the sprinkling system what a wonderful wonderful project that is! What a cool seed spreader! Thank you for sharing gardening tips for planting and also for the absolute beautification of the land. I also love it that you tell us in such a modest way about how you share plans and produce with other people and your volunteer work at the college and also at the children's Center. You're even teaching us how to shop for antiques and decorate our homes in a beautiful way. You also share wonderful meals that you have with your family and how to cook them. And you share how to love your children and each other by showing us how you do it rather than telling us. What a blessing you are to so many people in so many categories. Those Gardener Supply supports are the best out there. I have 4 foot high peonies that would fall over with anything less substantial. I went ahead and bought the supports and they were $80 for a pair! The large ones in your video were over $100 for 2. I wished a company would make a more affordable option. To spend $1000 just to support a single crop is ludicrous in this economy.

Exactly. I drool over all the stuff Garden Supply has in their catalog, but I simply can't afford most of their products. I've had to get creative with my supports by DIYing them with what I can afford. So far, so good.

@donnalovintexas87602 жыл бұрын
I just read about plants that deter animals. For deer: Russian sage, Bee Balm, Yarrow, Rosemary, Onions, Bleeding Hearts and Lamb's Ear. They say plant some of these around your garden perimeter and it will help keep the deer out. The scents prevent the deer from being able to smell predators so they stay away is the reasoning. I hope this helps. Onions may have the strongest smell.. not sure. I have seen other You Tubers plant onions around the border of their gardens. This may be why. P.S. Bleeding Hearts are poisonous to dogs if they chew on it.

Your cut flower shed is adorable. Have you considered an arbor across the front of the shed? I've got a Scott's Wizz and it does work very well. It's also nice to spread lawn fertilizer if you've missed a section by not over lapping. My son uses a Wizz to fertilize his entire lawn and not use a rotary or drop spreader. He likes the battery aspect of the item. Less hand fatigue. Isn't it amazing to plant something so little, give it water and fertilizer and the plant gives back tomatoes, peppers, potatoes or beautiful flowers? So rewarding to experience every year. Happy gardening everyone!

I planted about 300 tomato and pepper plants this year. It is alot but I gave my sister (she broke her neck 4 years ago) 50 plants (mostly tomatoes) and of course some died. I also gave some to friends. I planted last year's garden with appendicitis (didn't know) and as you can guess everything died. In the hospital 2 different times. I will have tomatoes to can this year if it kills me! I have no canned goods left. I love watching you get work done. Your farm looks amazing!

Hi Therep from RSA🇿🇦 Yes when you gather seeds from those peppers and plant the seeds the following season..... that happened to us....🤣🤣 imagen expecting a sweet pepper(looked like the sweet pepper) and biting into something extremly spicey.... lol we can also over winter pepper & chilly plants in pots in our climate. Most of Our 3 year old bishops hats died due to "black frost" about 2 years ago. One survived.... but got damaged bad, pruned it hard!! Took 2 years to recover but had a beautiful harvest this year!! Thumbs crossed it survives this winter as we are heading into winter now. This weather is soooooo weird we have volunteer tomatos sprouting in late autum. We have had our first frost already and they're still alive!!🤦🏼♀️😱 so weird.

I’m planting my last few tomatoes this week, too. I planted 16 on Sunday, 7 over the previous two weeks, and I’ve got another 12 to plant this week (6 Yellow Brandywine & 6 San Marzano). Can’t wait to have it all done, so I can move on to getting the rest of the late potatoes and tubers in the ground! 🥔🍠

They are a little pricey to have that many. Gardeners Supply is not cheap.

Everything is coming along in the cutting garden. Looks terrific! Every morning I look to see what guys are planting. It’s always good inspiration for us gardeners.

My Uncle taught me how to plant tomatoes like this, it encourages a deep rooting and stronger plant! The flower garden looks great, can’t wait for my ranuculas to bloom out!! Not a lot of luck with peppers here, not bell anyway, I get a lot on the plant but they don’t get very big. I’m going to try the Epson salt method this year 🤞🤞🤞

I did the Epsom salt trick this year too, hoping for good results! My plants had a bit of a rough start but they are looking quite healthy already. I also added fish fertilizer and egg shells to each hole.

likely needs more sun! or if not, maybe try removing some of the fruit to get fewer but bigger ones.
