Oh my goodness talking about yellow jackets! Here in N. Texas I have two types of bumblebees. One is small and furry and lazy and cute. Then there’s the one I call the assassin!! It’s huge and it’s been chasing me all summer. And trying to explain that I’ve been planting all the pretty flowers for them is getting me nowhere 😂 Still loving your videos Jenny 🦋

Jenny we watch you on TV and enjoy you very much one comment that I have to say that is a constructive criticism is the music has been way too loud that you’re playing while you’re working it’s I’m sorry I just have to change the level of the sound all the time when that happens Thanks. Second music while planting was perfect!!!

@@nancypatterson374 it was constructive criticism as I want her videos to continue to excel. I don’t hear that on Laura’s or other gardening videos and I watch many of them. It was only the removal portion and I don’t like to have to adjust while watching.

I usually watch on my phone and it wasn't a problem for me. I even went back to see if the volume level went up and it didn't. Maybe it's that particular music itself that bothered you and it just seemed louder. They can't please everyone with music choice.

Not sure if you'll see this, but I think the non-blooming Mexican sunflower may be a close relative, Tithonia diversifolia (also called Mexican sunflower, or tree marigold), which apparently blooms later and is yellow. Maybe the seed got mixed together at some point, especially as it seems to get weedy.

I’m with you-it’s so nice to be outside without being soaking wet. The weather has been great here in Southern Maryland! I love the chicken coop area-the new plantings look beautiful. Question-are the grasses an annual? I was going to plant a few but I don’t want to replace them every year.
@GardeningwithCreekside

Yes, these grasses are annuals. Proven Winners has great perennial grasses that you might be interest in. Desert Plains would be the closest looking grass to this annual Sky Rocket grass.

Last year I made the mistake of planting a tithonia in my raised bed, and it did the same thing! 10 feet tall, zero blooms. Maybe if I had a longer season it would have gotten there eventually, but I'm in Ohio. I'm guessing it must have been too much fertilizer and/or water, the ones I put in my neglected back garden this year are blooming like crazy.

I do the same thing every Fall when I think I'm not going to plant fall annuals. We know better! LOL! Wow! It looks totally different around the coop now. Will you ever plant anything permanently around the coop like shrubs and perennials? Will the chickens be cold or in the wind during the winter or does it bother them at all? I got stung twice this year by yellow jackets. So painful. Praying we both have more rain soon!
