I wish we had some of that rain in central coastal Florida. I guess we are going to have some tropical rain this week- fingers crossed

Greg, the first time I planted Roselle I planted each seed 6 feet apart and the rows 8 feet apart, and I still had to fight between the rows to pick you’re right they need a lot of room. I need to call a commercial guy and see how they plant this time before I plant. As far as washing your filter goes, get you a good bottle brush. It makes quick work of it and does an excellent job.

Boy I sure do feel your pain! Here in TN from May 1 thru May 31 my weather station logged 14.87in of rain - 19 days out of the month was rain. I keep a garden journal and tracked rain each day - 1st week 3.32, 2nd wk 6.09", 3rd wk 2.09", 4th wk 2.33" and 5th wk 1.04". And even into June I've recorded nearly 1/2" EVERY DAY. I've had to potup all my starts, lost a dozen strawberry plants in my GreenStalk and my potatoes are showing the toll. I'll be harvesting Yukon Gold/Red Nordland at 105 days rather than the usual 90. My bulb onions may b a bust but thank God for my bunching onions in three 24in containers. I'm now restarting my corn and green beans, this time in grow trays n the greenhouse as insurance. I live on the Plateau and my property is on a steep slope but the water ran through like a river. The ground is still saturated here - any amount of rain puddles on the surface. The grass is thick, green and long - the weeks are flourishing! I'm so tired of washing muddy eggs!!! In over 8 yrs here in TN and a lifetime of gardening in the Midwest I've not faced these challenges. We're forecast for a run of sunny days, I sure hope I can get my garden back into shape.

I can't wait! I've grown Roselle for the last four years and they always get frost bit.

Alleluia!!! A Roselle that I can possibly grow and not have the frost get it in Middle, Southern Tennessee.🥳 I have grown it for 3 years and never have harvested the callex. I do use the leaves for tea though. I have them planted in several different places this year in high hopes!!!

Idk what roselle I have but it blooms from March- December. I save a few seeds lol- I started with 6 plants and I have 3/4 of a quart mason jar full and give them to anyone that will take some.

I feel your pain. My inground garden the grass has about taken over due to so much rain and my sweet corn with the winds we have had God I hope I can keep it upright and it will make. Going top plant corn again where I had some multiplying onions and onions.

Best of luck! I’d be interested in trying some next year. It can be really “iffy” for us racing against that first frost up here.

This video has answered some questions that have been wondering about. I am trying a different Roselle variety but it is already making calyxes. I didn't know some were not daylight sensitive. Very different than the Thai red variety I normally grow. Also, I didn't know you could clean those filters. I should do that.

We grew some white last year and it produce calyxes twice. Spring and Falll.

Would you please re-visit the roselle occasionally during the year? I had a friend from Jamaica that used to make roselle tea. She told me how to make it, but I would love to see the plant as it grows, and learn more about it.

Well, Southwest Florida at my location. Haven’t had any significant rain in about two months. Should be coming soon. Pest pressure is the worst I have ever had here, just noticed I have root knot nematodes, white flies, stink bugs, and worms, devastating tomatoes, even though they are about burnt up and done. Time to pull everything and move forward , I too am getting Roselle in the ground. Is there a name on your new variety your planting?
