One good thing for you if your going to have a hot summer is to grow all the peppers you can. You will have a bumper crop, and the hotter the days the hotter the peppers (if they are spicy). I'm hoping we have a bit of a cooler summer hear in eastern NC, it's been a nice spring and I was actually able to grow cool crops this spring for once and reap some harvest. We always have to do ours in fall and early winter.

As a diabetic, I grow about 70# of potatoes each year..reds, Yukon gold, sweet. That's not much of each, but enough for my husband and I.

WOW - I remember when you planted part of that orchard behind you!!!!! Our's have been in containers for 3-years and are supposed to be planted "this weekend", again. I'm definitely showing this to my son & grandchildren when they get here tonight. Tomorrow they're supposed to weed-whack, then mow, then it'll by my now 14-year young grandson's 1st time operating a rotto-tiller. Meanwhile, we have a bag of spuds with eyes my granddaughter will be planting. YOU are their inspiration rather they realize it yet or not (lol).🌞

Crazy, we've had the opposite trend here in NE North Carolina. Unseasonably cool for May!

There's GPS locators that one can attach to garden tools. Even embed in wooden parts! I found, the darker the beet, the more "earthy" the flavor.

I am eagerly waiting for my neighbor to rototill for me tomorrow (he has a beautiful, large, tractor one)! My potatoes are ready to go! German Butterballs are my favorite, too.

it looks like we swapped weather again. When you guys had that heat dome a couple of years ago we had 70 and rain for 2 weeks when its normally 100 degrees. We're in the middle of 2 weeks of rain again, so far we've gotten about 30% of our yearly rainfall in the last week.

I am in awe of your weather. We had a hard frost this morning at 29 degrees in Upstate NY. Can't wait to plant more of my garden.

I was thinking about making a type of rolling cart for garden tool. If i throw all of them in the wheelbarrow, the long handled ones want to fall out. It might be better than GPS. Even if I think i have gathered all I need when I go out to the garden, I will still end up making trips back to the tools shed for tools. If we end up at a new larger property, the tool shed and the water supply will be going in the center of the garden area! God bless ya'll and keep growing.

I don't know why but this year i have potatoes growing everywhere in a scattered fashion. In a in-ground and a raised bed too. ??? So weird. I didn't plant them in those spots last year so I'm thinking miracles ❤
