Planting bulbs in my garden - tulips, crocus and alliums

Here in UK on clay soil I leave my tulip bulbs to flower year after year in the ground so took the advice of an Irish KZbinr to plant only certain varietes like Fosteriana, Viridiflora and Darwin groups. Also the Lily flowered variety Ballerina comes back well. And plant really deep, 12" !! (Stops small mammals digging them up too). And it works, I've had reliable reblooming. Now I only buy the fancy late doubles etc cheap in the sales, and plant in pots, then discard after flowering.

Hello, here in Austria, I've bought bulbs for my small garden. Many tulips, daffodils, mascari, alliums etc. I'd like to make 3bulb lasagnes in large containers and the rest in my small front garden. View from the living room. As a new gardener, this is exciting for me. Tulips are a mixture of pink shades of Van Eijk, 3 varieties. My colours for this year , shades of pink and white with a sprinkling of blue. Thank you for your informative video. I planted my bulbs in December last year. They all bloomed beautifully. I just know your garden will be absolutely stunning next spring. I really appreciate your camera, you can see everything in such vivid detail! I bought two big alliums, 10 dollars a peice im so excited to see them next year. I've had all my daffodils and tulips in the fridge forever now, i was waiting to plant them when it finally got cold here in Oklahoma United States. I get to plant them this weekend! I thought we were the only ones to use a power drill! My husband thought of it about 3 years ago - it’s so much more efficient. We too plant 1-2 thousand bulbs a year

U mnie w tym roku pojawiło się dużo narcyzów, również te stare, klasyczne odmiany z krótkim, pomarańczowym przykoronkiem i białymi płatkami. Do tego oczywiście tulipany w różnych różowych odmianach, trochę krokusów i czosnki główkowate. Chce obsadzić kulka donic, ale raczej jedna odmiana na donicę. Jak zawsze podziwiam jak wygląda gleba w Twoim ogrodzie, u mnie jeszcze kilka lat ściółkowania kompostem i też tak będzie 🙂

The tulip bulbs you selected are so beautiful together. I have grown Mystic Van Eijk tulips in the past and they are also a salmon pink tulip. I wonder if they are the same and just have different names in different countries. That variety of tulip also naturalizes very well for me so I still have them in the garden. Can't wait to see your garden in spring!

Mystic is more pink, salmon has that wonderful peachy tone added.

I think you'll like the combination of tulip queen of night and muscari baby's breath! It seems like we like similar combinations with a nice contrast and magical hue.
