I have 1 opuntia and its developing small pups on the pads but the pads are still small. So.. Im just gonna let it grow and see how it goes in the spring season.

I save my pots too. Some big box stores have a plastic pot recycling rack in their garden area. I’ve gotten a few different sizes off of them for free. You can also drop off any that you don’t want! Propagating is so addicting!🌵

There's a nursery near me that will give away plastic pots of different sizes and yes it's very addicting!

Once you potted the babies, do you water right away or no?

No I wait a couple of weeks until roots form otherwise you run the risk of having it rot.

When propagating cacti is required to cut the bottom in order for the roots to outgrow?

Yes cut the bottom and let it calluse over for some time. Doing that will let it dry and not cause it to rot when you plant it.

I usually have to water every two weeks or so because my room gets so hot and the plant pots are so tiny!

Is the Angel wings the same as the Bunny ears? The plant I just watched you pot the babies,looks the same as the one I mentioned I purchased recently at Lowe’s. I have two pads and now I’ve learned that the top mini pads are babies, there’s 7 on one and 6 on the other. Do I pot the babies or can I just leave them as they are? The plant is still in the 2 inch pot. Thank you

Yes it's the same plant. You can leave them on the pads..you don't have to take them off. I took mine off because I felt they were too big for the size pot the mother pads were in.

It's Ace brand potting soil. The soil isn't like any other soil I've used. It has a lot of sand in it that works great for Cacti & Succulents!

@@janinestar9372 you could mix your own soil. Try using equal parts potting soil, sand, and perlite mix well and then pot up your plants!
