Planting Corn near Platteviile Wisconsin | John Deere 4840 Tractor & Kinze Planter
In this video I am out in an 800 plus acre field with a John Deere 4840 Tractor pulling a Kinze model 3200 12 row planter. This farm is planting their 2024 corn crop.

THANK YOU MIKE FOR THIS CORN PLANTING VIDEO I LOVE THE SOUND OF THAT 4840 THEY WERE KNOWN BACK THEN AS THE WORK HORSE TRACTORS THAT TRACTOR IS DEFINITELY WELL TAKE CARE OF .I THINK KINZE MAKES A GOOD PLANTER NEVER OPERATED ONE BUT I HAVE SEEN THEM IN ACTION. Good looken tractor. I have a 4440 that is paired up to a 800 IH early riser planter for my small irregular shaped fields.

We used to have a 4WD 4850 back when this was new. Somehow I cant see todays tractors still running in 40+ years time, as all the computer chips will be failing and not replaceable.

You could replace chips, but I still agree there won’t be near as many still kicking. The old ones were just built tougher, they don’t overbuild them like that anymore unfortunately.

I chisel plowed with a JD 4840 back in the 1980's. I also drove a JD 4850, with front wheel assist, to mow board plow. I loved both tractors.
