Love both of those particularly "Mandarin". I usually grow a variety called "Polidor" and they're bright orange too and have a different foliage to my other sorts. Forgot to sow them this year but I have loads of Purity and Sensation. I'm like Andrew and have a really sweet tooth! The weather today has been so different to yesterday when it was blowing a gale and we had hailstones. The ground was white and looked like it had been snowing. Today it's nice and sunny so first job outside was to put right the damage that yesterday's weather did to my poor plants. They must be so confused with all these temperature fluctuations. Hope you're both okay and were able to get out in your garden today. xxx

I'm really happy with all the varieties we've grown this year so far, but the most vibrant has the be Mandarin. Andrew had a chuckle when he watched the video the first time and said I was right, he would have been on the lookout for an orange sweet! There are that many Cosmos varieties you can grow different ones each year and not run out of choice. We didn't get the hailstone here, just the rain, but it was nice yesterday and also today. Hope you have a good week Wendy, take care xxx

Greetings from Kentucky. I remember one of the first seeds that I planted in my early teens was Cosmos "Bright Lights". It had beautiful autumnal colors. I should really try to grow those again. Your color choices are beautiful. Enjoy the weekend, James

Thanks James, these are new to us this year and we're really happy with them. C 'Bright Lights' look vibrant too, alot like C. 'Mandarin'. Hope that we get nice autumn colours like the ones you grew. It's nice to grow plants that we grew as youngsters. there's something very nostalgic about it. Have a great day James, take care.

Only had 1 Cosmos before and it was a smallish pale yellow flower, it grew like wild fire for many months and very late, lasted 2 years then the winter got it. Those 2 look nice, especially the Manderin. I had it in a pot with E. Big Blue, Asibile (dark red) and Nemesia Heart of Gold. Cosmos is a plant I'd think about for another year given space. Thank you for the vlog, Richy 😃👍

They are great for continuous flower power Richy and well done for getting two years out of yours! 😀 I can just imagine the colours looking great with the other plants you planted with it, especially the blue of the eryngium. Hope you have a great Sunday Richy. Its rain here again 😒 but we did have a bit of a break yesterday morning so got some planting of containers up with more cosmos and some of the dahlias, video to follow soon. Take care 😀👍

@@MadAboutGardening Thank you, yes it survived 1 winter but not the 2nd. Work has been hectic as we have an audit tomorrow but with being on Lates I'll hopefully miss any last minute mayhem in the morning 🤣 Weather is looking good here Wednesday onwards, sun and heat 🌞Looking forwards to more vlogs, thank you and you both take care. Richy 😃👍

@@martianleaderrichy1520 Hope work and the audit went well. I'm on the audit team at work so have to do a few each year, but these are only internal ones. The external ones cause everyone a headache!😬 Looking forward to the warmer weather though it's been okay here yesterday and today but work got in the way of today! Yes, lots more videos to come. Take care Richy 😃👍

@@MadAboutGardening Yes, this is an external audit and I was told today they're here for 3 days, todays session finished about 19:00. Some staff wern't amused that the auditors were asking them questions. I was out the way in the road sweeper towing jet wash working on a multi story carpark 😁I thought Mrs Blackbird had left but I caught her this morning trying to make a new nest in the middle wall planter so when she left i filled the spaces with a potted plant and 2 solar lights. She'd be too stressed in that area 😒 I'll have to put my bird netting on the canopy sides to keep her out. Weather was fine until tea time then thunder down pours until about 21:00, I got drenched 😆 2 days off now so chilling with a few beers 😁🍺 Take care 😃👍

@martianleaderrichy1520 Asking questions is all part of it unfortunately 😔. Hope Mrs blackbird finds alternative accommodation somewhere quieter. It's been a nice afternoon and I've got lots done. Hope you're enjoying your days off. Take care Richy 😀 👍

I too love scent. As I type I'm enjoying the scent of Dianthus "Devon Wizard" which is colourful and long-flowering as well as highly scented.
@MadAboutGardening7 ай бұрын
That's great, we used to grow quite a few different Dianthus in our previous cottage garden and loved the amazing purfume. Unfortunately the Philadelphus flowering time is relatively short compared with Dianthus. Thanks for watching.

It's gorgeous isn't it! I'm so glad we tried this one this year. The blue pot is made for that colour too. I think it's going to be one we'll grow every year from now on 😍

My garden colours are "bold and brilliant" so "Mandarin" is tempting. How long-flowering is it?
@MadAboutGardening7 ай бұрын
It's the first year we've grown this variety, and so far we're really happy with it. The colour is amazing. This variety flowers from June to the first frosts so a long flowering period.
