How to Take Sedum (Hylotelephium) Cuttings | How to Propagate Stonecrops | Perennial Plants for Free

In this video we are taking stem cutting from Sedum 'Matrona', a beautiful dark leaved Sedum with pink flowers. We took some cuttings last year in late summer and these have now formed plants that are ready for planting out. This easy to follow guide describes the process from taking the cuttings to potting up the rooted plants.

That's a lovely Sedum that you've got there and I saw another gorgeous one on Lars and Allen's channel. They told me it was called "Touchdown Teak". The thing I like about Sedums is they come into their own just like Rudbeckia when other plants are slowing down and as you said, the bees go wild for them and they need all the help we can give them. xxx

It's one of my favourites Wendy, we used it a lot in client's gardens because it's so robust and the colour is just so lovely. We like all of the dark leaved ones though! There's two others that are good too called 'Jose Aubergine' and 'Purple Emperor'. I've not heard of 'Touchdown Teak' but it's looks great. We love Lars and Allen's channel and get lots of inspiration from them. They always seem to have sunshine! Have a good week, take care xxxx

Love the propagation videos. Keep them coming! I took cuttings of agastache black adder, verbena bonariensis, nepeta walkers low and nepeta kit cat last week. I'm thinking of sedum next. Its my first time so I hope it goes well
