I like this system of propagating garlic. We have planted garlic directly into our garden but that has not been successful. The drought & water restrictions affecting our part of Australia killed the crop. However, this system allows the plant to develop strong roots & stems ready for planting into a large pot or a garden that can be watered. There is no such thing as too much garlic.

all the garlic died. Garlic needs to be planted outdoor and grow outdoor. The shock of the transplant from indoor to full sun will kill all the plants. This channel is a scam, I'm shocked how many people support it.
@garliclovers14164 жыл бұрын
@@Altairw its sad you make that comment. I did this last year in southern Australia and the garlic did grow. Have you tried it out for yourself.? I have had workmen two weeks ago trample my newly growing garlic and snapping off green shoots. I thought I had lost it all but now new shoots are coming up from those plants. Hard neck garlic. Tough plants it seems to me.
@tanyawales54453 жыл бұрын
@@Altairw Was it significantly colder outside than inside when you planted your transplants? Did you place your garlic in front of sunny window or give it artificial light while it was growing in water so it was making it's own food and not using up all the bulb reserves? You might need to harden off the garlic plants first by placing them in the sun outside during the day when there is no frost and then taking them indoors at night for a week or two first . In a warm weather area that probably wouldn't be necessary.

Yeah, no plastic involved. No iron needed for melting noxious plastic. No electricity used. Don't have to water it every dang day to keep the water level up. Much easier to put the cloves directly in dirt and skip the entire rooting process. Might be a good exercise for children so they can see how things grow, but for an adult this is a complete waste of time.

You have to feed them if you want a decent crop. They will also need watered when they’re planted and there after when needed. How much depends on where you set them and the time of year. They’re best planted in a raised bed or a pot like this guy.. keep them weed free as much as you can so that the weeds don’t absorb all the nutrients. There’s more to it than just sticking them in the ground, but they are pretty easy to grow. Make sure you chill them first like in the refrigerator about 3 weeks or so.
