Thanks for the update on your safety; I'm so very relieved to hear you're not in harm's way. Even seeing Russell and Cheddar lying in the veggie beds, I cannot be upset. That soil looks so cool and inviting, if I could lie there, too, I would. So, we lose a few greens. It's the sacrifice we cat lovers make for the privilege of being their mistresses and masters. Hope you're feeling well, Laura. You look great. Kiss Master Benjamin from me. ~ Lisa

Love your videos. I am from the other side of the state and am recovering from major surgery. I am unable to do much in my garden because of recovery but now the wildfires are keeping us indoors due to the hazardous air quality. Your videos have been a refreshing distraction during this time as I long to be in my garden but reality keeps me inside with bags packed in the event we have to evacuate. I watch and rewatch them. God bless you. You have inspired me to step outside my gardening comfort zone and try new things and I’m loving it.

I love how seeds multiply. Plant 19 cloves of garlic this year and if each grows 19 cloves there will be 361 cloves next harvest. If all of these are planted the following year, you'll have 6,859 cloves. The third year - 130,321 cloves. In the fourth year there would be almost 2.5 million cloves. The awe and wonder of seeds and the potential of seed sharing.

I was thinking along the same lines ...or at least mark the small cloves when planting, so you could do a side by side comparison at harvest time! I think I'll do that with mine this year, so I know if it is best to only plant the largest cloves. That's such a great idea, Candace!

Everyone should have a "Eddie" on speed dial! Our go-to guy is David. David can build anything for us and has. The decorative railings for our front porch and stairs, the pergola that covers our patio that supports a huge trumpet vine, the detached 2car garage with heated bonus room, the whimsical garden gates we call The Hobbit fence and ultimately, the 800sqft addition to the house when we were ready to expand. We call this place the house that Dave built. Find a Professional builder that you work well with and put him on speed dial.

If you get a chance, the next time you do an update of your Mom's garden, please show her cold room - if she's ok with it. I live in GA and have been debating where to put one. I'm always interested in seeing different options. Also, when you put in the CoolBot, you may wish to consider making it a unit that has heating as well as cooling. I know the room will be insulated and you'll be using a light bulb for heat, but if you get an extraordinary cold snap, it'd be nice to have that option to prevent your produce and jars from freezing.

Nice, coffee with Laura, Russell, and Cheddar along with some typical cat behavior lol. You may have to either use some spray bottles or put the cloches back over the lettuce bed to keep those sillies out of there. I am inspired watching you plant that garlic and may give it a try because we are supposed to be opening our center back up by Oct 1 so maybe I can get one of the beds amended and then the children can help plant garlic for the kitchen to use in their meals! Thank you for the inspiration once again and I can't wait to see the root cellar done as well!

In our garage pantry/cellar we are using the rolling metro rack shelving sets from Costco. You can adjust the shelf heights. And because they roll easily, you can easily move them to clean or rearrange the space. Even loaded they roll so easily you can pull with one hand. Use plastic place Mats on shelves you want to keep smaller items from falling through. Then I use big 4” -S- hooks to hang smaller bags of produce on the sides to increase air flow
