@@ayina111 Maybe it's distracting to her, but in a few recent videos she stated the the sounds are not as bad as she thought they would be and that they don't really bother her. Laura, what you call “oversleep “ is not. You have a precious being that is growing inside you and mother nature is trying to tell you to get your rest. That is way more important than viewers listening to a very small amount of noise, in fact until you mentioned it, I did not even notice since I’m concentrating on what you are saying!

Driving a tractor with a fork lift? You go girl! One of the things I love about you is how you use all of the tools and such. In one of the first videos I watched of you, you made a wooden planter on wheels (May 10, 2015). I have always had my husband or sons do that kind of work, but you were so comfortable using the tools, it made me think I could use them too! A few weeks ago I pulled out a skill saw and...a story inspired by you follows: We moved into a "new to us" house several years ago. There were heating vents close by the kitchen, but none right in it. In the winter time I would stand with stocking feet in a certain place by the picture window and the floor would get warm. I was sure there was a heating vent that hadn't been cut open when the house was built. This year we got air conditioning and the kitchen wasn't cooling off like the rest of the house. I wanted to take advantage of our cool air, but opening up the vent just wasn't happening. (No one really knew for sure if there was a vent!) One day when I was home alone, I pulled out the skill saw and cut an X in the floor (yes, a skill saw - it's all we had to use - on a kitchen floor!) where I had previously marked the warm spot on the floor. (When I told my husband on the phone that I had cut a hole in the floor he said, "Oh, no." 😂 I knew I had done a fabulous job though, and I was really proud of myself! 😀) Cool air started blowing through the cuts! I made a few more cuts and knocked out the extra pieces with a hammer. My son cleaned up the edges with a borrowed reciprocating saw (he has done construction), I bought a beautiful vent cover and we are enjoying our cool kitchen! I don't know if I would have tried it without being inspired by you! This year I watched you grind a pathway for the irrigation tubing on the pads for your driveway containers and over the years I have watched you do, oh, SO many other projects. You have always inspired me with gardening. Your influence reaches beyond my yard and into my personal growth! ❤️ Thanks to your wonderful team and for doing what you do and being who you are! ❤️

Potato harvesting reminds me of my childhood when my grandparents would use mules to plow their large garden. The adults would dig the potatoes and we would gather them and place them in burlap bags. Potatoes were stored under the houses in those days where it was cool, dark and full of spider webs.

Hi Laura! Winter video idea: can you walk us through how you plan your crops for the next growing season? It's taken 2 years of watching you but I really want to start a vegetable garden! Can you share your tips on timing (spring vs summer vs fall crops), how to have something continuously growing, succession planting, your ratio on vegetables that are "one and done" vs. continuous harvesting plants, which plants should/shouldn't be placed beside each other, etc... I live in a zone 5/6 as well, and I love how quick your turnaround times are for videos because it's a reminder on what i should be doing in my own garden at that time!

Ever notice that they do that at the grocery store late in the day? I wonder if it’s for the same reasons about light🤔. When I was very little we lived next to a potato farm. After harvest, the farmer would let the neighbors come in and pick up anything the machines missed for us to keep. I remember helping my Mom. 😊

@@cindybonem494 It's a nice thought but I already run two businesses so don't feel up for taking on a third haha. It would need to be a garden centre with huge distribution space getting products shipped over in the thousands to make it worth it. It's possibly not at all cost effective due to the weight. It'd be nice to have a comparable organic range locally made to keep it affordable and the footprint down.

@@MC-ko2mx oh absolutely. She did a layer of leaves and blood/bone meal in winter too which I'm sure helped also. I top dress with compost, chicken manure pellets and worm castings from two wormaries, it would just be nice to have something similar to the bio tone, plant tone, rose tone etc that's all from one company, organic and does a good job. I've been slowly digging up a lawn and adding in flower and veg beds so the extra boost to our clay soil would be useful. I'll have to do some more research. Now I've we could just have a bit of warm weather over here that would be wonderful :)

Aaron choose my comment! 😺 lol I love watching each video you two post! I even got my mom to start enjoying it as well! I’ve planted so many planters this summer. Laura, you’ve given me so much motivation to just do more planting! I have TONS of succulents in a few containers. They are by far my favorite to take care of lol. Also I planted a container of three supertunia vistas, fuchsia, bubblegum and silverberry to be exact 😏, and two coleus containers. And Aaron brings so much humor and information in your content. Benjamin is the absolute cutest!! Congratulations on the new addition as well! 🥰😍🥰😍 so exiting!! Love seeing all you’re guys progress with the new land and your GARDEN omg so many huge harvests! -Kristen from SW Pa ☀️🌵🌺🌼🦋

Your harvest..is fantastic!! I grew up on a farm, and my Mom LOVED to garden. My Grandmother, her mother had beautiful gardens too..she had flowers and many vegetables in hers, with a grapevine, as kids we loved. My Mom was a country style cook and Baker, therefore our garden was abundant with green beans, green onions, potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkins, I thinks she had butternut squash, radishes and carrots. My Grandma had all of those but also strawberry rhubarb, rhubarb, strawberries, blueberries, watermelons, and pumpkins. Neither women ever cooked with garlic, since they didnt like it (??!!-I still cant believe). Our job as kids, to help weed, and watch for potato bugs and tomato worms..those green buggers with the horn. which would eat the leaves and crop. Great childhood memories, with Mom. We used a pitchfork to pull up the potatoes..worked fantastic.

The strawberries are beautiful!! There are so many, so Benjamin did leave some 🤣😂🤣 The vegetables look wonderful Laura!! Those Collette roses😍 Laura, that building noise must seem louder to you than it is coming across in the video. I never hear it until you bring it to our attention.. 🤣 but as soon as you start talking again I do not hear the noise. 🌿

I can’t tell you enough how much you’ve been helpful to get me and my family through the long quarantine days!!!! Not to mention that I credit my garden’s full transformation to you!!!! You are so inspiring.... I know some days are tough for you to film but on my end everyday brings a new video with the sweet Laura 🤩🤩 ..... the noise in the background isn’t bad at all; its actually part of life and makes ur videos more realistic (not that they need it). Hope u can advise with the following questions: 1- do you mulch around your ground covers? I love ground covers, got a few, but don’t know whether I should mulch around them. 2- how do u keep squirrels from decimating your plant and digging at their roots?

Thanks, Laura, I loved watching you harvest these gorgeous edibles! I can't have such gardens where I'm living, so I guess I'm sort of a garden voyeur. But one of the best events on a trip to England, was watching a friend dig up potatoes. SURPRISE! At sunset today, Fri, begins an ancient Celtic celebration of Lughansadh (LOO hansa) or Lammas on Aug first that honors the first harvest. It marks the very first hint of diminishing sunlight and gratitude for Earth's loving care for seeds we planted in Spring. The big harvest festival of Samhain is what we celebrate as Halloween. Lots of wonderful times for your arrangements of Easter egg eggplants and dried flowers!!

Hi Laura! WOW! You got a great harvest of potatoes and onions. Your family and friends will enjoy what you give them. That is so nice, and sweet, that you share what you can. You handled that tractor like a pro! I knew you would! I knew there would be a point where Benjamin couldn't keep up with strawberries. LOL! Bless his heart! I'm sure he will enjoy the jam! I hope you do a video and recipe for the jam. Would also love to see what recipes you use the red cabbage in. Thank you so much for sharing! Oh, and don't worry about the background noises.
