I hear the stories that dad and grandpa tell how they did all their farming back when the biggest row crop tractor JD made was the 5020 with 141 pto hp out the door. Plus, they moldboard plowed and conventional tilled back then. The question is this.. how the heck did they do it? Don't get me wrong... grandpa has a 3020, a 4020, and a 4620 restored from back then and we put them on augers and wagons to keep them in shape and they are powerful tractors but our new stuff can run circles around them. What I'm saying is this... those old boys were hard-core and I got to salute them!

The Mixmate seems like a really nice unit to have on the spray trailer. Keeps it safer and healthier it seems by keeping you away from the chemicals more so than the old way. More accurate I would think also. I know the Welkers have one, Scott is still figuring it out. And made in America.

Cole the Best Advice I was Given to be a Good Backer Upper was not to look at my Trailer like I was Doing but to look at my Back Tire on the Driver's side rolling along the Ground backwards and just steer it along the path you want it to roll along and do a quick check of the Passenger side mirror once in a while to make sure all looks clear and keep watching your tire rolling on the ground at the back and steer it along! It's the best advice I was ever given : ) Seeds are Red!!! Cool

So I see this all the time from people who don't tow much so I wanted to say something here. When you hook up your chains your supposed to cross them otherwise you loose strength if the trailer comes off the ball or out the hitch, its stronger and doesn't allow the tariler to dig into the ground and really give you problems. Also you don't run the breakaway cable through the chain because then it wont activate the brakes if something bad happens.

Looks like auto steer on mechanized farm equipment is the first practical application for autonomous cars of the future. The practical application of science and engineering in modern agriculture is astonishing. I wonder if the farmers in the 19th century could ever have imagined such possibilities. What will farming be like in 50 years? Will completely autonomous farming be next? Will aspects of farming from planting to harvesting be done remotely by operators monitoring and controlling equipment via satellites from control centers miles away from the fields? From what I see happening in this video, it’s not hard to imagine that this will be possible in Cole’s lifetime.
