We do not take very many days off here at Cornstar Farms, but since we are backed up in the shop, we decided to.
I usually spend most of my free time editing KZbin videos, so that is how the day started. After editing I cooked lunch, and then started cleaning my house. I decided to clean for a while then clear snow out of the driveway to allow access to the big machine shed. After that I went back to cleaning and computer work. The video wraps up with a quick workout.
Thank you for watching!

Cole The Cornstar, aka Cole, is a 4th generation family farmer from Central Iowa who is the life force behind his family’s 1,700 acre farm. Cole promotes agriculture by filming his day-to-day adventures with his Dad (Daddy Cornstar) and brother (Cooper) on the farm. With a lot of help from Daddy Cornstar, Cole instills humor and education into his videos fit for both young adults and adults. Despite being 22-years old, Cole has an old-fashion work ethic with an innovative approach toward agricultural technology and practices. Cole's mission is to prove the American Dream is not dead and be a megaphone for agricultural education and innovation, from technological advances in farming equipment to conservation practices.

Slider hamburgers: 1 lb hb. In 1 gallon zip lock bag. Roll out into perfect square. Partially freeze, score into little slider squares with pizza cutter through bag. Freeze solid. Break into little slider patties. Cook with onion, bell pepper place half slice of cheese, onion mixture and 1 dill pickle on each slider. Make several of these up ahead of time.

@@AJ-ox8xy it's good for a guy to know how to do all of those things for them selves. When you find a wife or who ever if they have been spoiled by everyone and had everything done for them while growing up you may want to observe them in that environment for awhile before you commit if that's what you want in life. My son must have been watching closely because he can do all things in the house and take care of his 2 kids and works a full time job. Pick someone who shares in all those things.

Recipe for meatloaf for you, pound of burger, mash it down flat in a glass pan, half cup long cook oatmeal, 2 eggs, half a bell pepper cut fine, whole onion cut fine, roll it up and mix it with a big fork or your hands. It'll be a pretty lumpy loaf with the veg but that's ok. Steal some Heinz from daddy and make a zig zag pattern on the top, cook at 325 for about 45 minutes. You can get creative and use bread crumbs, pork sausage, leftover peas, most anything to stretch it. Bon appetit!

Nice to see you cleaning and rearranging. When I meet my wife she was freaked out by looking in all my closet’s and drawers and everything was in its place. I was a 23 year old at the time and I was taught by my mother to do laundry and clean house. There was three of us boys who grew up on the farm and every Saturday morning we would help mom wash clothes and clean house before we went to the field. It didn’t hurt us a bit.

Cole, I have to say for a 22 year old you have the wisdom of a 50 year old. Very impressive. Oh, on the squats and dead-lifts. I'm an old weight lifter (35 years lifting). Be sure to stay at a weight you can control at al times! I've seen a lot of lifters with backs all tore up from those two exercises. Fact is, I never did them at all! I was all about upper body strength so I did a lot of flat/inclined/declined bench work. When I hit my max I was getting 2 reps (almost 3), at three hundred pound while weighing 185 on a 5' 9" frame at the age of 63. I'll be 79 in a few months and I seldom have back aches or pain. Seriously Cole, your Dad and Grand-dad would and are no doubt, very proud to call you Son. If you Dad gives you any lip tell him I said so! LOL

@@genli5603 I agree and I have had many friends say the same thing. But there's a thing called Murphy's Law that states, " "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". The thing is the types of injuries I've seen over the years were not caused by Repetitive motion, they were a one-time incident. A little off-balance, a little torqued to one side or the other, a little too much weight, etc. One other thing I have noted. The people I've seen injured had been doing dead-lifts for years.

Cole, you ought to bottle all that energy. One day you'll need it. Chicken is one of those love hate meats for me. Boneless skinless chicken breasts are cheaper than chicken thighs. Thighs say moist when grilling and baking due to higher fat content. People eat chicken to reduce fat intake, so the winner is chicken breasts. I cook usually do the heavy cooking twice a week and make large batches. Spaghetti sauce from scratch, for pasta and every couple of weeks lasagna to freeze, stews both beef and chicken, Lima bean with ham soup and potato soup. Much quicker when busy to pull something from the fridge or freezer than eating fast food. Wish I had your organization skills.

Wow! Love the farmhouse! Where I come from the second “livingroom” is a parlor. (Cajun)... Lol!!! My grandma’s old house has the parlor was for “important” company... which means it was only walk led through to go to the livingroom and kitchen.

Happened upon your channel a week ago. It is like looking into a mirror into my past, can't stand clutter, bounce from task to task and have a need to learn new things all the time. Once I visited a good friend's home and they weren't very good at cleaning. Was thirsty during a game of scrabble (our fav game to play) and went to the kitchen to get a drink of water. An hour later my friends wife went looking for me just as I was finished washing the dishes--we still laugh about that one! Simply Driven

I recently discovered your channel through the house gutting and remodel. It is so weird going back and looking at a few of your old videos...and the house is in one piece. As neat as the house was, I get why you had to "update" it - I see the chimney in the background and am reminded of the burnt wood back there, or the ancient electrical, etc.

I love that stove! My grandma had a 6 burner, 48" stove.(Granddaddy had Granny pick out the stove...then he built the room to fit it.) When you use something like that, you recognize how much a 30" sux. The doors look exactly like those in my grandfathers house...which he built by hand. I sold it in 2006, after living in it 16 years. Now, I realize I sold my heritage. Idiots painted all the woodwork...oh, it looks like poo poo.

Really love that old house being original. Would recommend instant pot for speed/clean/ frugality. We lovedoing baked potatoes then ribs,1hr. Chicken then using the broth and not using another pan pasta Alfredo from scratch. Soups and great baked beans, use it nearly daily.
