Wow those corms were so healthy looking. I picked some up today that are pretty desiccated but I noticed some life in them so I’ll give them a grow. Thanks for the video! 🙏😍❤️

Give them a go, you never know they could be fine. We planted some lily bulbs this year and one of them looked bad but its come up fine and looks just as good as the others. Thanks for watching 😀 🙏💚

I've got fifty pots of perennial's and six pots of annual's in my front garden. Now after looking at your video I will grow two pots of these next year.

Wow that's a lot of pots! Glad you've been inspired to try these. Ours are growing well and we're looking forward to them flowering with those lovely raged blooms.

I've not grown these before. They look really nice. I'm always looking for things that attract the wildlife. Well done on getting the seeds to germinate. You must be thrilled to see they've worked. Take care. xxx

We're so happy to see the seeds germinating, it makes it more special when we grow our own from seeds and they eventually become flowering plants. They are perfect for wildlife and very unusual too. Their common name is the gayfeather which we have to chuckle about! 😃

Paul, I bought some Liatris corms Autumn 2023 - will they still be ok to plant?
@MadAboutGardening8 ай бұрын
So long as they are still solid and not squidgy they should be fine to plant. Give them a try and thanks for watching 😀👍

Hi , hope you don’t mind I’m still looking for advice on the lovely red squaw monarda plant you have. I managed to find and purchase bare root plants in pink and white but not located the squaw other than seeds. Did you buy yours as a plant ? I have ordered the seeds - any advice on succeeding with them ? I read an article that they can be hard to germinate unless had a cold winter ?? Thanks for your time 😊
@MadAboutGardening9 ай бұрын
We bought ours as grown plants and haven't grown them from seed before. Some sources say that they need a cold period and some don't, so why not try sowing a small quantity of seeds and seeing if they germinate. If after about 3-4 weeks they haven't, you could but the pot or tray in a clear plastic bag and put into the fridge for around 5-6 weeks. Then bring it out and that should provide them with the cold period. I have read that they require light to germinate so don't cover them with compost. Either leave uncovered or use a thin layer of vermiculite. Let us know how you get on as we're curious which way is best. 😀

How often should you water the corms?
@MadAboutGardening8 ай бұрын
A few times a week in dry weather should be sufficient. 👍
