Chrysanthemum are the national flower of Japan so its only right that I have some growing in the flower garden. having only been able to find spray types last year I finally got my hands on some heirloom chrysanthemum plugs and it's time to get them in the ground.
I'm Pheigi at From The Witch's Garden, a Scottish girl trying to grow cut flowers on my allotment in Kanagawa prefecture in Japan. Remember to subscribe if you want to follow along and see if we actually get any flowers at the end of the season or if it is all a crispy burnt mess.
If you want to see what I do with the flowers I grow check out ‪@fromthewitchsgarden‬ on instagram.

I would like a tour to see all the blooming flowers and the overview of your garden. The sweet pea peeking in the shot looked so pretty! But only if you have time and want to...Thanks Pheig =)

I have so much random footage of the garden clogging up my phone I was just thinking I need to take the time and turn it all into little videos. Fear not, thanks to your kick up the bum, I am now on it.

Isn't it funny about how some people don't like the smell of 'mums and marigolds because it smells of cat pee to them? I actually like the smell of them both but cannot stand the smell of boxwood. To me that smells like cat pee🤭. The garden is looking pretty good so far from what I could see.

It is strange how the same thing can smell completely different to different people. I hate the smell of strawberries and cant stand going in to the supermarket when it is strawberry season here in Japan. Love the taste though.

I was just about to say that 1 month old crysanth can be topped and make you some extras! 🤣👍🏼 then you said it yourself anyway! 🫣🤣 also even if you don’t keep the topping and root it - they would benefit from being topped because they become more bushy and will give more flowering stems! 🫶🏼 gotta love a Mum! 😁🫶🏼
