We buy the seed in those pails. Sugarbeet seed is really small so it goes a long ways. One pail like that plants about 6.4 acres. And since we have box planters, it’s nice for loading the planter because we have to be more precise with the beet seed.

Is that a GMO sugarbeets ? If it is what resistance has it got, roundap? Unfrotunetly here in Europe we can't grow GMO ... 😶

Yes, 95% or more sugar beets grown in the area are GMO. Roundup resistance and there is Dicamba resistance in the works for release in a few years.

Can sugar beets be used to make ethanol ?

I’ve heard of it the idea being tossed around before, but I know the efficiency window on ethanol is pretty narrow. It think corn is the overall better option for that economically, logistically, and agronomically.
