Tyler, I really enjoyed this video❣️❣️ my father used to say that every field in every state has its own beauty. So when they went to California, he was surprised to see that there were beautiful fields out there. He was an Iowa farmer, and he raised corn and hay and beans as well in the off-season… But he loved Wheat field in Kansas as well. I was really surprised how much He talked about California’s beauty and their fields of various crops. I didn’t remember what he said the cops were like, but just as they were beautiful against the sunsets. It wasn’t till I started watching your videos that I saw for myself when he was talking about. In this video so, when you begin to putting down the fertilizer, and then you called behind a type of Harrowing .d

HEY! 116K!!! THAT’S GREAT!!! I had to giggle when you were rolling up that wire. Anyway, thanks for sharing. This video is interesting and fun. I know it’s a lot of hard work for you and I appreciate you adding filming to that. So much dust! It must of been awhile since you guys had some rain. I’m praying for rain for you, but not too much though. Love getting to see Cali and Belly. Cali is such a love. She has accepted Belly and is teaching her. She has such a great disposition. Just please make sure to love on her a bit extra. It’s funny when I saw the cows some running, but some just a moseying on over to the hay, you can tell your animals are well taken care of and that they know that they’ll have enough to eat.

Sitting here listening to the rain looks like you made it in just in time. This time of year in Northern California you never know when your going to be rained out till spring. We always tried to get the heavy cat work done by the end of October get a shower at the end of the month or early November, then get back in with the lighter rigs in and get the Alfalfa and grain planter before the rain then tule fog started back up. That was ideal it never seem to go that way, I can’t count how many times by the time it got dry enough to get back in we had a few days to run the drills and fly on seed and also ground rig broadcast seed if you could, hopefully get it covered before the storms came in. Then on the other side was storms in late October early November, then nothing in December and January plus no tule fog to keep it going. Those years you also lost the inversion layer as well, those years drilling worked better, but most years if it got wet and stayed wet we never saw the difference between broadcasting.

Hi Farmer Tyler. When you did the drone video over the fields, my first thought was those type of photos with the contrasting colors of gold fiels and green tree areas made me homesick when I was out of state in College. I'm a 3rd generation Californian and watching your videos makes me so glad I came back home to California after College, which was several decades ago, LOL. And yes, we Califorians are always watching the rain forecast. I did all the outdoor maintenance (rain gutters, etc) in preparation for the Atmospheric Rain Storm that has now been down graded and more. So I'm there with you on the forecast. But better to be prepared than not. And what a good problem solving idea with the C-clamp👍🏼

Totally off topic and maybe sticking my nose where its not wanted but just want to mention that one of the greatest lessons I learned as a child and teen on a farm was how to work hard. (Must say I did not always do this willingly) Not sure how this might look for you and yours but wanted to pass the thought on and will never not mention it again. This principle has stuck with me into my later years - yesterday had a computer problem that I could not figure out - got 2 other peoples help but they gave up - after several hours - I figured it out !! Just know you are doing a great job.

Often times when you bring the second cat or second dog into the home, there’s a fighting that takes place due to a threat in the seniority, which is common in animals. You see jealousy in human babies/children when that new baby comes home, but Callie and Belle don’t seem to have any problems and getting along, and in fact, they play so nicely together… But they also respect one another’s boundaries. When you go into the corral, to work with a cattle, Belle lays down by the gate and just wait for you. She doesn’t play with Callie.. she just know she supposed to stay and wait. They are both beautiful dogs❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ I was actually able to snap a picture of the light gray kitten from the end of your video. I’ve been collecting different farm animals particularly the baby ones to make a little book for my sisters grandson that she has waited 45 years for. She lives in the country in a berm house. They built about 10 years ago or a little bit longer… And she has chickens, a dog, and a couple of cats but they garden also quite a bit. He is just enamored with farm life. He has his own hat, his own boots, and his own egg basket. So I wanted to make this book for him to sit and look at the pictures of all the different kinds of farm animals since his grandpa has Parkinson’s disease and they won’t probably be able to go to the zoo very much and more and more people are getting “zoo animals” and bringing them to the farm… Or, at least if they don’t qualify zoo animals, they qualify as farm animals in other countries.… Such as alpacas and baby Zedonks & baby zebras, emus and ostriches, etc. I could take the pictures from the Internet, but I would rather tell him that the pictures of these animals came from farm homes, so that he can sit with his grandma and grandpa who is parents are living with right now… They moved in with Covid became a big issue in the country and they could work from home with your computer jobs… And while it has seem to have gotten better, my sister and her daughter own 40 acres together and they are planning to build a second house next spring… Especially since she just gave birth to the grandsons baby sister. Anyway, you have some beautiful animals and I’ve snapshot You’re a big turkey, (but not without its feathers lol.)😊; as well as your Angus baby calves with the white face… Those are my very favorite Calves.❣️❣️ I really love your videos Tyler, and they are one of the highlights of my day, over all the other videos I see which I don’t really watch a lot of videos, but yours has so much content in them, and so much wisdom. I hope you guys did have a wonderful Thanksgiving .🦃

❤ Tyler, I watch this video again, even though I had seen it before, but I’m always in all of hell you were able to problem solve issues that come up on the farm…. Usually in the nature of fixing equipment. When you mention that you might have to unload the grain spreader into something else, one bucket at a time, I saw one and unbearable job and Lengthy job that would be❣️❣️😂 I was so glad you did not have to do that after all, and were able to fix the problem with the clamp which hill together during all the ceiling of that field, and the fertilizer as well. I like your definition of the field, when it was all done being hard, and smoothed out of all clumps, and you referred to your field as a corduroy-looking field. I thought that was a perfect definition as it was so beautiful. I’ve always lived in the Midwest where our farm fields are full of black soil… Although further south, they have red clay soil to be fair. But watching you farm in California I have begun a new appreciation for your soil and land, if you plant. It was so refreshing to watch Callie and.Bellie walk the past year with you as you took down the electric fence. Billy is proving to be your number one advocate as she curiously I’m sure everything you do. Thank you for this beautiful video and I look forward to the next exciting video you make.❣️❣️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😊

Such enjoyable videos!! I love them! Thanks for making them and for thinking up and using those very interesting camera angles!! It was informative to see the grain wagon running. Up here I’m used to seeing grain DRILLS: closely spaced tubes to drop the seed INTO the soil. Still looks like corduroy, but just 1 pass as it covers, too. But, being 70, I suppose technology has changed around here, too…I just don’t get to see the new stuff haha! I appreciate your efforts in your work and videos; thanks again. Have a great Thanksgiving! Will your turkey be big enough for your meal? Seems you mentioned one was so destined 😉! Until your next, very anticipated, video!❤

Your ring roller just might be a cultipacker
@westsidesjvalley
@westsidesjvalley Жыл бұрын
Lol a cultipacker is what Brillion calls their roller, this is a Schmiser While it might look the same from a distance or from a video, the Brillion has rings where the outside diameter is about the same size of the center pipe of the smaller Schmiser ring rollers, the bigger ring rollers have a center pipe bigger than the outside diameter of the Brillion rings or sprocket as they sometimes call them. Brillion cultipackers not are they significantly lighter and smaller the big difference is and where the name ring roller comes into play is Brillion rings run tight on a shaft and can’t float, whereas on a Schmiser you can have a 13” OD pipe with a 22” ID ring that allows it to float and work both the top of a raised bed and the bottom of the furrow at the same time, plus on big clods in soils like Adobe it allows it to work over those clods better instead of raise the whole roller up like in the Brillion or Western brand. Another difference is the weight of the rings, one single Wasco ring weighs the same as one foot of Brillion Cultipacker, then you have the weight of the steel tube that it runs on, and that’s if you don’t fill it with water. Now in wet ground the heavy Schmiser doesn’t operate the same as the Brillion or Western brand and style of roller where that might be a better choice, that’s why many people have both types out here and can really see the difference in the size, weight and design depending on the conditions you are working in. It’s like comparing a Semi “truck” and mini “truck”.

…cont’d with 1st Comment; (i’m not sure why, but I was dictating it, and the next thing I know it totally disappeared! Then my second comment, I had begun to dictate it and make corrections, and suddenly, as I get ready to type the word disk, the whole comment was sent to your website and I wasn’t done. I get so frustrated with KZbin since their updates, it makes it very challenging to type comments now. But that’s not your problem.) so back to what I was saying about the beauty of the California farms : when you begin to fertilize your farm, and then you had, but I thought my father called a harrowing rake, to get the seed in the ground, and then roll over it, so that the seed goes further down. When you were doing that, and you had the drone up in the sky, your field was so beautiful with the amber color of grain against the ultra marine blue sky… Such beauty just like our patriotic songs, say: for amber waves of grain; for purple sky the flag doesth wave…. Well now I’m just an artistic person talking but I think you for sharing the beauty of your land in crop. I’m sorry you didn’t get the rain you would hoped for. Bellie is such a HANDSOME, beautiful dog… and she reminded me of a German shepherd we had for a pet… We were real original in our name, and he was called SHEP! I actually think your dog is more beautiful and she is learning very quickly what you want of her.… To put a paws up in your truck so you wi🎉lift her!❣️. She also sits patiently at the gate while you work with the cattle and she doesn’t come in while you’re working… She already understands that if you were working space and she’s expected to wait just like she sees Callie doing. I think she’s developing your easy-going temperament, Taylor. I certainly love watching your channel. I wish you and your family a wonderful and Blessed Happy Thanksgiving.🦃🍗♥️
