I can understand your anger, Jack. I really wish PopCap and EA did more with PvZ. I want GW2 to have one last update of reworking the town hall and recycling community challenges to make achievements are possible. I want PvZ 3 to be better and actually be fun. I'm still feeling frustrated that EA Shepard had sparked hope for the community, only for it to have no flame.

The main reason PVZ3: What Could Have Been was shut down was because it was deemed as trying to 'replace' PVZ3; it was in the name and if people are playing that instead of PVZ3, it's making EA and PopCap lose out on revenue. It's a scummy and downright hypocritical reason to shut the fangame down (since they haven't targeted any other mods thus far), but it makes some sense from a business perspective. George Fan wasn't 'fired' from PopCap, he was laid off. EA didn't have a lot of influence until the last few years; the majority of the monetisation was handled by PopCap. Also the studios for the tower defence games are completely different than for the shooters - PopCap Seattle handles the TD games, while Popcap Vancouver, the shooter studios were shut down a few years ago. You're totally right on the whole mystery portal thing though, I don't buy that they claim to be unable to update the portal due to lack of 'backend support' or whatever but are able to add an entire anticheat to PC (which doesn't exactly work). I also don't see why they couldn't just get a skilled modder to access the files and change the rotation if PopCap won't get off their arses and do it.

The main reason why pvz 3 is failing is because their marketing to a younger audience. AKA: the people who did not grow up playing genuinely good PVZ games Their not trying to appease the fanbase they already have because they have standards for the products they use. EA and by extension popcap games are ABANDONING their own fan base to market to a new one of younger children. but those children have no attachment to PVZ3 because well, it has no substance and the people who are attached to these games are left unhappy because well. they arn't getting what they want. even sadder, EA most likely won't sell the PVZ ip to some other company. because simular IPs like angry birds have not been sold because they don't want competitors using them to make genuinely good games. because that would "take cash out of their pockets" EVEN THOUGH THESE IPS ARE NOT MAKING THEM ANY MONEY ANYMORE.

Yeah it's kinda safe to say that this game is going to die out soon and it's been a a few years after the game came out in some countries, it's still not even here in America! This might be the actual end of this entire franchise and if that ends up being the case, that'll be super devastating and disappointing to see such an awesome franchise die out and go to waste, well if that happens, at least I still have the CoD Zombies franchise.

The stupidity honestly just made me go: "Yeah, PvZ is dead. Popcap is digging its grave." BFN at least has stuff like the upgrade system, PVE regions and the boss fights, ect, which I all really enjoy. But I have literally zero things to say about PvZ3 or Match.. or that RPG thing that got canned.

It's mostly about the money around these companies. Nowadays, they don't really care about fan service or anything, or they just technically abusing fan service to order to get more money out of them, Also, don't forget the fact that this is mostly focused on kids, not people who grown up to these games

This rework is for the gameplay, this one is actually looking kinda good. I feel they may be going back to the original level system and get rid of the level grinder system. Its what they hint at. If im wrong i cry.

Clearly, PvZ3 has no good direction at all. They keep changing what the game is and even if you actually like PvZ3 at its current state, they keep removing it from the App Store so what is even going on? Why keep changing it? Just decide on something and stick with it, or at least don't call it PvZ3 so that it won't have high expectations

Was a good run but it's not going to get better. PvZ 3 has been sunset multiple times now and they still think its gonna work, it aint. And why are we praising them for adding features such as seed selection which has been around in all the pvz games? That's pretty piss poor if you ask me

I actually didn’t mind the first iteration of pvz3 where it was entirely 3D models and more like clash royale a bit with the multiplayer. But every iteration after that there trying to reinvent the wheel that was pvz 1 & 2 and it just doesn’t stick. Like it gets way more predatory with micro transactions and tries to be more of a candy crush clone… at the very least with the first I could see people playing it and the micro transactions line was already kind of crossed with 2 but at least it’s characters that you kept. With the candy crush iterations it just took damn near most the reasons the original two games were loved.

its just the type of game that isnt timeless. pvz gw2 & pvz1-2 r timeless, u can see the passion put into them & they go for something nobody has done before & all 3 of those games have something that makes them different. if they want to make pvz 3 successful, they have to make it better than pvz 1 & 2

I think there are people wanting PvZ3, but I'm not sure Popcap understands how to make a game, let alone PvZ. They only added *fundamental mechanics* like sunflowers or seed selection after people complained. You're supposed to get your fundamentals down first, and build everything from there! Because they did not start with the fundamentals, I doubt they will be able to make a truly well-designed PvZ at this point. At least I hope their team hits their stride and builds a new campaign with longer levels, more plants, and more zombies.

I mostly understand the gameplay i need... but mostly EA just did as they it good or worthful for us but what are they give us? mostly just something that we really not makesense... in my opinion if My PVZ game I gonna make I gonna make A PVZ my own and bring PVZ fans play mine as I just want try some... and I gonna listen to Fan for make my game better. But is that EA doing? well definitely i think no if for my self... as i am pVZ fan even my profile is my OC + Sunflower. i hope only the new game of PVZ franchise will be better... EA is the main reason PvZ is suffering as a franchise, pvz 1 and 2 along with gw 1 and 2 were created and released before EA bought popcap, the original leader of popcap ended up quitting or being fired bc he wanted to focus more on building a quality game and leave DLC and other microtransactions as 2ndary things where as EA just wanted to spam microtransactions at the expense of neglecting the game itself which is what caused pvz 2 to suffer abit and even irked fans when they started adding DLC to gw 2 (thankfully they only added a few microtransactions to gw 2), all of the original popcap staff have either left,retired or been moved to other games after since BFN epically failed and despite the fact pvz still has insane potential as franchise and a extremely loyal fanbase i don't see it going any where unless another company buys it from EA or EA brings back as many of the original popcap staff they still have and give them creative control to make another pvz game, EA definitely knows pvz still has a ton of money making potential they just need to realize that instead of trying to change it into the way they like/want it to be they should just stick with the tried and true formula that made pvz 1,2 and gw 1,2 great and make a new pvz game that has the original popcap formula, heck they could literally just make a new shooter with a few new maps that combines the classes from gw 2 and bfn then give the new classes from BFN variants and keep the same style of animation gw 1 and gw 2 have then just call it gw 3 and i guarantee it would make them a ton of money bc people would buy that up like crazy then they just add a battle pass and some premium seasonal skins which if they are any where near as good as the gw 2 skins and BFN skins they would make even more money, only reason BFN died is it simply lacked the diversity gw 1 and gw 2 had making pvp a bore after awhile so if they simply give the fans with the want via following the original popcap formula then they will profit big time and revive the franchise

ea was a really garbage company anyways, i know LOADS of people always cry about people saying ea ruined popcap, though to be FAIR, popcap did make a fair share of trash decisions in the pvz franchise, but i dont know much nor have seen any evidence for both sides of people who think ea or popcap are bad. but i wouldnt be surprised if ea sc3wed over popcap, due to how greedy and how much of a trash company they are.

@@YIKWYM123 before EA bought popcap the games they put out were great (EA bought them around the time gw 2 dropped), sure there were pre existing issues but they were either very minor ones or popcap would quickly fix it bc unlike today the popcap of old would actually listen to and encourage player input and would regularly interact with fans of the franchise with a good example being how insanely OP electric citron was when gw 2 first dropped which only took them a few weeks to fix/nerf him where as these days popcap rarely interacts with people bc EA instructed them not 2 which is 1 of the main reasons some of the ongoing issues with there games go unfixed for a long time with the main example being cheaters/hackers in gw 2 and bfn who have figured out how to bypass gw 2 and bfns anti cheats which are outdated by todays standards and need a serious upgrade but EA is putting in minimal if any effort to actually update it which has let to the creation of the ban tools that were originally created by some one that decided to take matters into there own hands in order to ban the cheaters/hackers but other people got a hold of it and figured it out leading to some trolls banning bfn/gw streamers

@@Samuel152 it was around the time gw 2 came out but i couldn't remember 1 when exactly, by the time EA had bought popcap gw 2 was pretty much already finished and ready to go so ea had little influence on it hence why gw 2 is so good where as BFN which had alot of EA influence went belly up after half a year bc they focused 2 much on skins and microtransactions and not the quality of the game itself

@@CrimsonReapa You're completely wrong. EA bought PopCap in 2011. Their logo is right next to PopCap in GW1 and GW2. If EA didn't buy PopCap, we wouldn't have gotten GW1 and GW2.
