30 minutes of me fumbling around with sunflowers in the night and fog. I swear I wish I had realized when I recorded this how useful the sun-shrooms were!

Mary Champagne I acually really like the fog levels for 3 reasons 1)those levels have really good plants,some of my favourites acually 2)it shakes up the gameplay in more ways than one And 3) it's a lot of fun trying to beat these levels with the addition of fog and water plants and the amount of sun you acually get In these levels ...I'm so sorry for commenting this...

The thing about the plantern your missing on is that once you plant it the fog can’t come back unlike when the blower blows the fog costing you a 100 sun every 20 to 15 seconds. And for the plantern you just have to plant 2 and protect them with walnuts and or tallnuts. And then the fog can’t annoy you.

I remember when I played the mobile version, which I'm gonna get again, I LOVED the sun shrooms. I don't remember if I had used Sunflowers on the first night level, but I know I didn't after sun shrooms. I quit during world 3. Don't quite remember why. I think it was because I needed phone space so I could record videos.

+Excalibarsonic Started playing the mobile version after I got bored on a 8 hour road trip to Miami again. My favorite part is that you can see your total zombie kill count and a trash can which demonstrates the amount based on the height of zombies on there which will actually go to space :o P.S lots of fun to watch / hear this video while playing the mobile version but kind of annoying on the 4th stage as sound helps a bit in those levels when you can't see the zombies due to fog

From the testing I had done I have found that Sunflowers give sun more slowly at night than in the day. That combined with their higher initial cost make them inferior to Sunshrooms at night. A certian "spread gun" plant is one of my favorites, as a field of them can devastate most zombies.

You'd have the same abundance of sun as in day levels very fast if you used freakin' sun shrooms and baloon zombies can't fly over lawn mowers even with their baloon they will get run over. ;-) Are you not planning on doing the survival modes (since you mentioned you may not have a chance to show cattails)?

I think the best strategy for the Planterns is to put one on a Lily Pad on the 4th row. You can already see the heads of the zombies of the 1st row, so no problem there, and since you've just illuminated the 5th row, the 6th row will work just like the 1st. Now you can see all the zombies, and you only have one Plantern to worry about!

I always found the aquatic shrooms to be a waste of space. You're getting normal shrooms (which recharge way faster) and lily pads anyways, and zombies generally wait a long time before moving through the water that I just use normal shrooms on lily pads and have better attacking in the back.

@shadowsa2b No, no. For 50 sun you can plant 1 Sunflower, which will give you 25 sun, or 2 Sun Shrooms, which will each give you 15. So you get 5 more sun from the mushrooms for the same investment.

I don't know if you're one for achievements Tim, but there is an achievement for beating a night level without using any mushrooms (there's also one for completing a daytime level only planting mushrooms)

@23emdee I'm thinking about it because he played badly. His strategy is really poor compared to a lot of other ones, mine included. His commentary is good, but some people don't care about only commentary. He is finishing the levels, but he doesn't do it efficiently. He is probably really stressed out while playing because he isn't using a great strategy. I don't really feel like that's a good thing for either gameplay or commentary. Just a random thing. He is impressive at Megaman!

I don't use the water shroom thingys. They recharge too slowly, so I'd rather use a puff shroom on a lilypad. Though it costs 25 sun to plant the lilypad I find I can build defences up faster, which is worth it in my opinion. I also use the mushrooms that can shoot long distances rather than peashooters/repeaters. Costs less sun to plant two of them on a row than a repeater. Just plant them on the back column or the second last column.

Facepalm count on this video: 19. First of all, USE MUSHROOMS DAMN IT! Use the ones which give you sun. They are cheap and give you get sun. Only 15 sun in the beginning, but they grow up and give you more. You can get enough sun to sustain yourself. Step 1: get cover on all land rows and as much water coverage as possible. Only one on each first. When you notice one mushroom shooting, put one behind it. That way, you won't mess up your formation. You use too expensive things! Kelp, GO!

Ah, so at least in your video description, and ofc in hindsight, you realize that you had the completely wrong gameplan by choosing to go with the Sunflowers instead of the Sun Shrooms... And I also find the Fume Shrooms to be really good, despite their semi-short range. They do have slightly longer reach than the Puff Shrooms, and they hit EVERYTHING in front of them, not just the first target in the row. They deserve a bit more credit than you give them.

I personally hate it when other people take pictures and videos of me. When people are just walking past you and take a glance it's fine because it's just temporary. They're not going to reecall the moment 5 mins later becasue it means nothing to either party. With a picture or video it's permanent, people can witness it until it's deleted. Pc is good for sitting down and playing minigames and the real game, but isn't too good for portability. If you have an iphone, get it for that! D: ipod touches work too. If not, get the pc one.

The problem of NCS is because he tend to slack off. But we can put that on the fact he have to comment and say something while playing. LP curse :p

I hate the fog as well. Thankfully they give you really great ways to deal with it soon enough. WHen I played these levels I abused the free shrooms to no end. They killed most of the zombies I think. When I had the lanterns, I put them in the pool with a bunch of sea-shrooms in front of them.

try sun shrooms at night. granted they dont produce as much right off the bat, but they are quicker to get planted and you can rely on TSPPs for a little while until the shrooms start growing up. plus since you get them out faster, it helps to compensate for the small sun they produce at first

sun shrooms are more efficient than sunflowers. if you do the math the sunflower puts out 25 sun at a time and costs 50 sun. a sun shroom puts out 15 and costs 25 sun. so for the same price you can put two sun shrooms and make a 5 sun profit each time. not only that but over time they become twice as efficient and match the sunflowers

Actually NcS you're wrong. the upgrade for lillipads 'Cattails' can also pop the balloons on the balloon zombie, and the lawn mower will actually cut down the balloon zombie... you probably already know this, but i just thought i would tell you anyway.
