I just got a juvenile clarinervium about a week and a half ago! It’s so cute and I love the overlapping lobes 🥰 I added my first few anthruriums to my collection but the Clari is definitely my favourite so far! So cute 🥰

yay!! congrats on pollinating it!! Someone told me they are soo slow lol. Even a year and a half for berries to ripen. Such a long time!! Hopefully, the info stays on for you and you can have your own hybrid in some time here!

When do you cut off the inflo? I would think now since you got the berries.
@plantsbymelissa Жыл бұрын
I cut it off the other day since it starting yellowing more. I think it's because it took so long to grow I didn't want to cut it off until I knew for sure it was going in a sense lol

The clarinervium looks healthy, produced berries, why were you sure it had rotting roots?
@plantsbymelissa Жыл бұрын
Because every plant in sol sols rotted on me. I just knew because it's been in the same pot for over a year and couldn't visibly see any new healthy root growth. I think the only reason it survived was because it was on the top shelf of my Ikea cabinet under super close light and extremely warm temps. I stressed out every time I went to water it.

Are there any anthuriums that won’t take a cross? Or can you cross any two anthuriums together? What about 3?
@plantsbymelissa Жыл бұрын
You can’t cross just any two together and I am honestly not that knowledgeable on it. Before you cross them you’ll want to see if they can cross and I would just do a google search to see if anyone else has done it. I’m sure there’s some journals out there that give more specifics but when I did this I just went for it and didn’t research any so I definitely got lucky!

@@plantsbymelissa taking some chances is what life’s all about!! 🌱❤️

And thank you for that information!! I always wondered if there were only specific anthuriums that could cross successfully!!
@bpopp9839 Жыл бұрын
Curious. What's that mix made of? And why do you not recommend it?
@plantsbymelissa Жыл бұрын
It was sol soils 😒 Travis and I talked about the issues I was having with it and he said it stays moist for 10-14 days so no need to water more frequently than that. Not only was it staying moist longer than that but it was creating a sludge from the calcined clay which was limiting the oxygen available to the roots which led to rot in all the plants I had in it. It was also full of fungus gnat larvae. He then unfollowed me and told customers I didn't know how to water my plants 😂

It’s crazy how sometimes you can get 300+ seeds, and sometimes just 3 😆. I cut off my pollinated Clari inflo once after about three months, not knowing that it takes so long, was so sad. Keep us posted on these 3 seeds ok, I’m very interested to see what they’ll end up looking like 🫶.
