I only water mine once a month - I let it sit in cool water in the sink for an hour so the moss and bark can soak up the water. Then let it thoroughly drain before putting the drainage/nursery pot back into the decorative pot. My flowers last for MONTHS and are plentiful. My coworker gave me this advice as the orchid was a gift and I am a total brown thumb.
@nettieharris

If I were you, I would up that watering to twice a month And question you don’t water it differently depending on if it’s summer or winter because probably once a month during the winter time is fine but during the summertime, you don’t notice that it’s need for water intake is higher/greater?

But I've changed my attitude and now onto step 2, keeping them alive for a few months at least. I love how she shows that the plant you think is dead, is just dormant. Great video! If you buy Keiki paste you can gently take the sheath off the bud spikes that haven't bloomed. Apply Keiki paste on the flower spike areas and new orchids, more blooms or a combo will come out of each flower spike. They will be clones of the mother plant too! Also don't forget to use Orchid fertilizer on your plant. The orchid spray works really well 💚🪴🍀🍃🌵🌱🌿

With a bonsai you want to flood the pot weekly(give it water till it pours out the bottom heavily) . Most Bonsai need partial sunlight.(some direct sun and some shade) It can come inside for decoration but it’s not exactly a houseplant. Also you will have to look up pruning and wiring if your able to keep it alive for a good length of time.

I let the buds fall on their own then I cut the end off the end of the stem, not saying it’s right, it’s just what I do, but I do cut the stem lower if and when it dies more but, sometimes another spike grows off of the old stem. All my orchids have lots of wild and free air roots 🥰. I also move my orchids, and other plants around the house occasionally as I find they like a change, they do always have indirect sunlight and I have at least one orchid in flower most of the year (I have 6 orchids) which are the one/s that I have on main display. ❤️

I was literally trimming rotten roots from my son " watering " mine! I was letting your short play and the long root reached to my phone and tapped it and liked it 😂😂😂 I thought that was the coolest thing ever!

How in the world do you keep track of when to water each plant? Also, do you drench all plants when watering, or do some require a little bit of water at a time?
Do this right after purchasing orchids to ensure longevity!
