Plasma Cutter

This video will remind you of some basic safety and operating procedures when working with the Plasma Cutter in the Tyler Metal Shop. Follow all general welding safety recommendations posted in the welding area. A shade 5 (lighter shade than the arc welding masks) face shield &/or goggles is required while working with this equipment. Make sure the fume extraction unit is running and wear an additional recommended respirator as desired. Never use a welding or workable as a cutting table; use the designated cutting table or prop your work up off the concrete floor with fire bricks.
Don’t use any machinery you have not been cleared to operate by an instructor or the shop technician. Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the shop technician immediately, Never use equipment if you have not been cleared to use, and always ask questions rather than risk serious personal injury, &/or damage to the equipment.
