I can’t believe they figured out how to put plasma in a tv just because they wanted to call it a plasma tv. That’s crazy

if the plasma emits light when you stop providing electricity to it, then how do you make it stop emitting light?
@BoManton5 жыл бұрын
When does it say that? ... electricity is the energy source of the light. if there is no electricity, the tv will no produce light.
@nipun0565 жыл бұрын
@@BoManton @3:34 "As soon as the discharge ends, the freed electrons immediately return to their places and the plasma once again becomes gas. What's important is that as they return to their places, the electrons release their surplus energy in the form of ultraviolet rays." So It said specifically, "as they return to their places, the electrons release their surplus energy."
@ZigSputnik5 жыл бұрын
@@nipun056 The energy release is momentary, as the electrons return to their lower orbits.
@nipun0565 жыл бұрын
@@ZigSputnik Ah ok that makes sense, thanks! So does that mean this momentary energy release can be considered the lowest possible latency we can get using plasma tvs? Since we need to wait for this energy release to end, the pixels can't go back to black "instantly".
@ZigSputnik5 жыл бұрын
@@nipun056 The electron fall back time is virtually instantaneous and doesn't contribute to the apparent lag. I would think that any return to black lag will be due to the signal circuitry and not the physics of plasma. But you could look into this. LCD is a lot slower returning to black because it takes time for the crystals to physically rotate.

John Hooper that is the max power usage referring to what number? And last time I checked my friends 50” plasma used over 400 watts which is kind of insane.

John Hooper yes I understand that it depends on the colors being output and such but on the back it had the amps and using that and voltage you can determine the wattage. Unfortunately I didn’t have a wattage meter.
