I believe it has something to do with the kb settings being set from 1.0 to 0.9, which means you can survive much longer or something. Not too sure about the specifics but everyone seems to be complaining that players aren't dying or being sent in to tumble when they should

Komo lost in top 8 to Captain Jack (very long and boring 3-2). After the set Komo noticed the Knockback Ratio was 0.9 instead of 1.0 which among other things favors Bayonetta to which he lost. He was pissed and TO agreed to a last game rematch. Captain Jack awas pissed. Nobody knows how that happened and how many sets were played with those settings. Ultimately he destroyed Komo in the rematch so quick it looked like he was picking on a disabled 5 year old. Komo refused the handshake afterward. other fun fact: The medals say "Super Mario Bros. WiiU" *I'm not familiar with sm4sh 4 scene so I hope I got the right names*

Really? This was pretty much the biggest mistake in smash 4 history, after the set of Captain Zack vs Komorikiri, Komo noticed that the damage ratio was on 0.9 so they replayed the last game, which didn't change the result. Later, they noticed that it was already wrong before the Dabuz-ZeRo set and maybe some other sets, too.

Elegant vs Salem is a toss up...Elegant is REALLLY GOOD, same with Nakat...Nakat over Kameme is only an upset based on X factor but not skill. Nakat is one of Jersey's SMARTEST players, dude can compete with the top 10 based on his PURE skill level.

Rankings are based on results. Salem travels and gets a lot of results, Elegant doesn't and doesn't get a lot of results. If Elegant traveled as much as Salem he'd be no doubt ranked. Took out Void and Abadango before this, and took MkLeo to game 5. SoCal has the most amount of great players no one's ever heard of. He beat Captain Zack and Pink Fresh prior to this tournament, that's the other two best Bayonettas in the world. He knows this match up well. It was hardly "expected" Salem would took this set.

Yeah I don't get this, Elegant's beaten Void, Pink Fresh, Mr. E, Captain Zack, and Abadango before. Salem's a much bigger name, but if someone is capable of defeating some of the best in the game, then it's no fluke. An upset is when a fluke defeat happens.

Elegant's already taken out the other two best Bayonettas in the world. He knows this match up well. Plus he's taken out the best Sheik and best Mewtwo showing that he doesn't only excels at one match up and that he's a force in the scene. It's hardly "expected" for Salem to have taken this. It was only expected because Salem's a big name and no one outside of SoCal and those that have been paying attention know who Elegant is.

I finally saw what happened on the second SD ZeRo had agaisnt Brood, he was probably really nervous an did a Reverse B instead of a B reverse. Wich is why his peanut popgun didn't affect his momentum at all, he canceled it with airdodge super fast but it was already too late with how quickly he was falling.

You're missing day 1 Zenyou losing to Lax and Firefly (both offstream).I dunno who Child is but him beating NotLast in winners should also count (for the record NotLast is PRed 19th on the NorCal PR and was formerly 13th and 15th; I believe he actually had the set vs Child in his pool as well). The talent pool in this game is so even! For example at Genesis, in melee you have basically 5 people that could have potentially won it: Armada, mango, m2k, hbox, leffen (but mostly Armada). Anything else would have been pretty insane, not to take away anything from players like plup or westballz. In smash 4, any of the top 15 ranked players could have taken Genesis and no one would be surprised. I don't think we'll ever have a small number of "gods" that never get beaten in Smash 4, unless a certain few people start soaring ahead.

My reasoning for this is because smash 4 is a much easier game to reach top levels so you have much more people doing it. Melee is on a completely different level, hence why its so difficult for other players to break through to that level. While that may sound bias because I am in fact a melee player. I also play smash 4 at weeklies. However, I am primarily a melee player. But from what I have gathered, it is much easier for me to take wins in smash 4 than melee, even though I dont even practice smash 4 anymore.
