Plastic Clipper Lighter VS Metal Clipper Lighter.
A comparison between the regular refillable plastic Clipper lighter and the special edition Metal Clipper lighter.
I was asked in a comment the other day which type is better value so this video is a longer version of my thoughts.
The Plastic Clipper lighters cost about a quarter of the price of the metal Clipper lighter, meaning that you can get 4 plastic lighters for the price of the one metal lighter.
If you're buying the Clippers to have an actual cigarette lighter then I would recommend the plastic Clippers because you can get 4 lighters for the price of a single metal Clipper.
However, if you like collecting lighters then I would recommend the metal Clipper lighter because it has a much better build quality and a nice presentation tin.

disposable clipper do have a way to adjust a flame, when you hold them diagonally downwards to light a pipe for example, the flame actually increases! when you return it back to standing position it will decrease. It is a simple mechanical feature. try it!

Would be so nice if you could store a couple of flints in the body. Nothing worse than losing your flint when you're far from civilization. Perhaps clipper should produce a "Clipper Survivor" model : ) Perhaps with a wind guard, rain cap and a mini compass in the base which you can unscrew to reveal spare flints. LOL

Disagree with your opinion on which lighter to buy. Clippers are refillable, durable, and reliant lighters. Even if you were going to get a plastic one, they are still refillable! "four for the price of one" does not really matter if i can keep even a cheep plastic one for a couple years or more. I say for daily use, go with a metal one. less ware from daily usage, more durable, adjusted flame. Good vid. Not hating just my opinion

I have a Clipler lighter probably since you made this video, I hope it will accompany me in the decades to come, if I don't lose it, it certainly will. You can adjust the flame on the plastic one as well, by tilting it more gas will come out of it, these are certainly well engineered lighters :)

Its like the ultra cheap usable lighter like when back in the ww2 zippo was not a style items but more for outdoor hence the oil and wick( back then not sure there was a gas bottle lying around like now lol)

I have the exact same 2 clippers and the metal seems to be better, because it has a dial rather than a tip flame adjustment. It can be increased further than max, plus is has a long flame instead of a thick flame which is easier to control.

By the way...these lighter are collectible and could be worth something. But more the printed versions of the Lighters. In Europe especially Spain, Italy, and Germany fans hunting for those. Some Sets (set of 4) could be worth 20€ and if they are vintage (70 - 90s) it could be even more. Do not throw them away! Greetings from Berlin, Germany.

On both lighters you can replace the striker. They simply pull out.

I don't know if you know this, but the plastic ones if you tilt them it puts out more gas which makes the flame higher.

I have a metal one. I prefer the thumb press of the plastic clipper. Does your metal one feel different than the plastic? I feel like the metal doesnt press down as far as the plastic.

I've not noticed a difference on mine other than one switch being metal and the other plastic.

I collect clippers and bics. I have two different models of metal bics. Both of the metal ones have a different press feel to me than my nylon models. All good lighters but the fact that the metal ones come with the circular wheel has always swayed me to believe they were not genuine clippers but they still feel and look nice and my gold one is always a conversation piece when I carry it.

In Australia (rural Victoria) I can get a clipper plastic for 3.50$aud Or I can get a clipper jet for 3.50$aud high quality gas refills cost the most ranging from 13$aud to 30$aud.

metal ones have a two year guarantee but for some reason the metal ones goes thru alot of flint wheels , ya know whern your striking and strike and it wont light even with a new flint in
