Looks good. Even with the issues it makes a good looking build. Good job

This car, as a stock car, would pair up nicely with the Hudson Hornet stock car model build.

Just came across your video. This is a stunning build, and great paint job. One thought, if you need wide white walls in the future. I use a circle template, they are used by artists to draw perfect circles. Lay it over your tire and decide the size www that you want and spray. I love your build, you are obviously very talented. I bought one of those templates but none seemed to be the right size. I took it back.

Very nice job. I don’t too often think to do completely stock, but you make me want to give it a go...

Looks pretty good to me. Great build of a great model. Your interior colors are fairly close to the full size Oldsmobile. I have this kit, but have not started it yet. Knowing of a full size car in this original color in my area, will make my build like that car. Thanks for sharing this nicely explained video.

I try to match similar colors to factory paraphernalia and online photos of actual cars before I decide what to do with it. Not always, but most times.

A guy who owned 'Wings 'n Rails', hobby shop in Plainfield Indiana, years ago gave me a tip on Testors spray can enamel paints. He said to place the spray can in boiling water (about 2" deep") for approximately 5-8 minutes. That will thin the paint and result in a smooth finish. I've done it and it works with no incidents of exploding cans.
@Kryptosmaster4 жыл бұрын
I use hot tap water. I’m leery about boiling a can.

@@Kryptosmaster Yeah no doubt it sounds kind of iffy. I can tell you I used to do it a lot without incident but with Tamiya, Testors lacquer, and the new Rustoleum there's not much need. I've got a decent spray gun but too lazy to mess with it, besides, I haven't invested in a compressor, was using air can. Thanks for all the tips and honest reviews. I always look forward to your posts.

Great review Richard,I got this kit around 3 months back,thanks for the heads up when I get round to building it,I have the 1:18 scale Auto world diecast model from the movie Grease of this car also coz I love these late 40's /early 50's american cars,the 1:18 diecast was not cheap by any means when I bought it,but very highly detailed as you would expect,this 1:18 model also has no underside of the hood or bonnet as we call them here,itself detail either?,love the burgundy colour,it turned out great,I also mostly paint my whitewall tyres free hand too,looking foward to your next review,cheers

Just to be a rivet counter, the little mark over the "e" in, "Coupé", is an accent making the pronunciation, "koo PAY".

I know at one point after this kit was released, you could write to Revell and they would send a set of pad-printed white wall tires.
@Kryptosmaster4 жыл бұрын
Good luck getting anything from Revell now. I gave up trying to get a missing part from another kit.

You've completed another very fine model. It's a shame you chose not to build the Marshall Teague car. It is all but a stock build and it represents an important milestone in America's involvement in international motorsports competition. The Buck Baker NASCAR car is also quite close to stock as well.

Do you ever build Japanese kits(like from Tamiya,Aoshima,etc.) because some only like to build only American kits. The Japanese companies have done some really excellent car kits over the years.
@Kryptosmaster2 жыл бұрын
I’ve never come across any I’ve wanted to build. I don’t particularly care for many foreign car makes and classics are more my type as well. I have built a few Bandai Star Wars kits and they are excellent.

The white wall decals existed before pad printed tires. I'm sorry, I couldn't watch while you drag on through the instructions. I'm sure you do a nice job on the actual model.
