Was wondering if u know anything about the non magnetic Batman that came out. Trying to find a price on him but am coming up with 0 on him. All I know he is very rare and that’s the issue. I figured u may have a idea because u know so much about Mego. Glad to see u back

I never got to dabble much in the 12” superheroes with the exception of Superman, Spider-Man and the hulk and the values have changed so much in the past few years that I have no idea what they go for now. Never did get my hands on any of the magnetic figures or their non-magnetic counterparts.

I have seen a few different ways to string type 1 but this is my favorite way. Thanks for the video!! The first way you did it. But I recommend hot water to soften the head to make it easier and less likely to damage the head being removed and then again to install.

Most of the time they are flexible enough to avoid that but definitely helps if they’re troublesome.

As a safety precaution to prevent damage due to battery leakage, I remove all the batteries from my electronic figures and vehicles regardless if they are being displayed.

It’s a bit of cheap therapy for me even though I don’t have much disposable income for toys and things lately. I try to get as much “bang for my buck” when I do bid on stuff.

Yes, strawberry shortcake started in the early 70s and the first toys were made in 1979, the show in the 80s.

Now that you mention it, I think I do remember strawberry shortcake was like a greeting card company creation or something, right? And then they decided to do the toys and the TV show later.

If your measurements in 1:1 scale are in inches, it’s almost a perfect match in mm. So, 3” equals 3mm. That’s in 1/25 scale. Just for future reference. Measuring in mm is much easier than tiny fractions of an inch.
@Kryptosmaster

Have you replaced any bulbs with LEDs? I was going to do that so they would be brighter
@Kryptosmaster
@Kryptosmaster 10 күн бұрын
Not yet. I thought about it. The only ones I did LED so far are the cornering lamps and reverse lights. It’s been a few years since I looked into it but I was very unimpressed with the choices. Most had very poor reviews on longevity and I hesitate to put LEDs in a place like the instrument cluster that would be a pain to have to replace bulbs if they keep failing. I was also thoroughly unimpressed with the headlamp bulb choices (and cost $$$) as well. Perhaps they have improved? I haven’t checked.

If not stored properly, the rubbery accessories for these old Best of the West figures can harden and shrink or distort and will never fit right afterwards. There is no fix that I know of. Fortunately, they are so common that you shouldn’t have any trouble finding good replacements.

I am building the same Lindberg 1948 Lincoln Continental kit now and have to guess how some parts connect to others like the piece with the hood vent between the hood and the windshield/top of the dash.. This kit may become a prime candidate for being videoed as I blow it up with hidden well-placed firecrackers that will look awesome played back in slow motion. We'll see if it comes out good or needs blowing up. I built the Lindberg 1953 Ford and it is one of the best car models I have ever built.

Ya know Richard....ya talk a LOT about your paint yet I still don't have any idea what you used. Did you use a primer? Was it lacquer or enamel? Was it Rust-Oleum or Krylon or Tamiya or Scale Finishes? Was it single stage or 2k? Was it clear coated...and if so, with what brand and type? Those would really be more relevant than you talking about how you felt it came out. But...thanks for the video. Denny G, Sandwich, IL Oh, and the wheels....two sets of wheels, stock and wire. The wire ones fit the wheel retainers perfectly, the stock ones leave a 1/8" gap that needs a plug glued into the outer wheel half before assembly. They don't tell ya that. dg
@Kryptosmaster

Always use primer. Probably krylon enamel. Too long ago to recall. I’ve never clear coated over krylon. Pretty sure I’ve been a little more informative in later videos.

Thank you so much for posting this video. After watching this I got mine apart today by sawing off the top (furthest from the table top) with a thin-bladed coping saw. Went quickly, but I almost sawed into the white battery box and nearly broke the electrical contact wires. There’s some robust plastic pillars inside supporting the battery box that I eventually had to snap with a screwdriver to get the “lid” completely off.
