Plastic Oil Pan! Why is it so oily?

Best oil pan material is good ol stamped steel or aluminum alloy.

Just did this oil pan gasket twice and still leaked found out the plastic oil pans tend to warp and it’s always a good idea to replace the oil pan itself and the gasket

I have a question, what type of location is this driving in? Is there an under-tray on the car.. I'm curious that if it's driven in extreme heat? or cold? could make it warp. If you want to use the farming zones that would be excellent, I live in a zone 8B.

@@deamonmachine I just had the same leak problem, I have a 2018 GTI with 40k miles, and Yes, I have a protector that covers the entire bottom part, I live in Bolivia, in Santa Cruz where the average temperatures are 33º C all year round . But in winter a few days a month we reach 10ºC, and that's exactly what happened to me last week we reached 8ºC, I took it to the workshop and we will change the gasket, but I'm worried if the plastic oil pan suffered any deformation, what do you suggest? or how can we realize it?

Is there an o-ring for the oil sensor that needs to be removed as well?

If you have a new one to put in, it's the perfect time to do it (Yes there's a seal there, but if it's not leaking and you don't take it out, just roll with it).

Great job Deamon!! Worked at a couple different lube shops in the 80s and an NTB in 2007 and had to almost literally cut a couple spin-on filters off because they were over torqued. Last time was at the NTB and when the customer found out, they said they had been to WalMart the previous oil change and said that was the last time.

Do you need to use a sealant as well with the gasket or is the gasket by itself enough?

Just the rubber gasket is fine, no sealer required.

Are these rubber gaskets re-usable? Say I drop the pan for other work and the gasket wasn't leaking prior.

I broke the same kind of oil pan on my 2018 golf and basically ran it bone dry insurance wouldn’t cover it so I took it Upon myself, purchased a new oil pan and suction tube that suffered damage. Replaced them both and added fresh oil in the motor car won’t start is there any advice you can give me on what I can do next? the car cranks over but will not run

You ran the engine with no oil buddy, you need a brand new engine lol. That's why your insurance wouldn't cover it because a new engine probably cost more than what your car is worth 😂😂

I don't know for sure off the top of my head but I'd imagine if they are m6 bolts around 9nm. Nothing stupid tight.
