Hey guys. Many foreign cruisers visit Indonesia each year. And we can speak from personal experience that sometimes when we tried to dispose of our rubbish ashore it was then thrown into the sea by locals. (In the end, for lack of a better option, we had to burn our own rubbish so we knew for sure this would not occur again) While we try to minimize our plastic waste it sometimes included products purchased in Australia which could have been made in any number of countries including USA. So this is another possibility of how waste gets there.

Indo was my second home for so many happy years, with the people the nature the surf the diving the food... It's a such waste to see all this degradation. 1991 First time in the Gilies North of Lombok. I had goose bumps underwater from the magnificent colors and life displaying in front of me. A true paradise. But is all going to shit... And to tell the truth I'm not sure that the average "Indo European American" Joe, really cares about. Most are just living breathing shiting animals unable to feel or to understand the concept of future, and the surrounding beauty .
