at 16:00 i suggest a diffirent approach that goes a lot faster. Just use the ctrl + r to insert isoparm, u enter 1 line on each surface part (total 3) and they are already perfectly aligned with the surface normals- and then duplicate the surface edges to a curve which is already joined

Minute 14:04. Offset surface seems broken when the rendering display option "show edges" is turned off. then you cant see the offset new face until confirmed. this should be visible even with show edges of, because many people like working without edges shown

Not sure if its a 1.3 bug but the sweep command doesnt work for me - i get all the time an error even though the curves are perfectly aligned. I tried with many new test scenes and it occurs all the time in normal mode. "suffered in internal algorythmic failure". Edit: happens with 1.32 and 1.2.23 also. with relativly simple curves with 4 or more knots.

Keep growing. Love your videos. Btw, what is the workflow of turning this concept into a product prototype with specific measurement/requirement? Can we still use the file from plasticity or have to rebuilt in another software? Thanks

? what is the workflow of turning this concept into a product prototype with specific measurement/requirement? -> At the moment Plasticity isn't the go-to software for exact precision modeling as it lacks some measurement features, which will come in the future. Also I personally don't have any experience with production/manufacturing. ? Can we still use the file from plasticity or have to rebuilt in another software? -> You can export it as .stp / .iges and use it in other CAD software. Or you can export it as an .obj with a mesh topology

I really like ur tuts, but sometimes when something doesnt work like a conver to edges or something it would be nice to explain the issue and why its not working in a certain way. you just skip along. I think its very valueable to learn from the small tricky situations when given more insights to why.
@nikita.kapustin
@nikita.kapustin 10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your suggestion! It's tricky as some people like it this way, other people prefer it to show the "problem-solving part". The thing is, if I show the problem-solving parts, the videos might be MUCH MUCH longer, and just a very few percentage are making it even past first 15% of the video.

@@nikita.kapustin for example I had massive issues with the sweep at the beginning. Since a slightly to big profile causes an error but I didn’t know until trying out a lot.

@@KoganeNoYubi I am pretty sure, that exactly because of that, you tried it out on yourself and found the solution by yourself, this is so ingrained in your memory now that you will exactly know what to do next time. Otherwise, you might not engrained it, if I would just show it. Doing stuff myself, especially solving problems is super crazy important for the learning process.

Love you channel, keep growing! - do you have any video reference for rendering (in Blender)? I'm trying to find easy rendering methods but can't find a good one for me.

plasticity looks awesome for 3d brainstorming/prototyping but i wonder, how hard is to go back and change dimensions? does it have any kind of history/parametrization or you do need to repeat your work?
@nikita.kapustin
@nikita.kapustin Жыл бұрын
It's exactly intended for brainstorming/prototyping. You can't really go back to change dimensions and you don't have a history. I literally never needed it. I just do it correctly from the beginning on. And if something has to be changed later, than I just redo this particular things by recreating surfaces/geometry as I need it. But in the future I am sure there will be history features and stuff

@@nikita.kapustin hopefully. im newbie in 3D and this is first app that i already feel like i can make something. even using for 3D printing, changing dimensions would be gamechanger
@g8610g
@g8610g Жыл бұрын
But brainstorming/prototyping is exactly that. Changing alot of things/dimensions and trying out new ideas. Otherwise you’re just developing the final idea/3D model AFTER the brainstorm/prototype phase. Im also wondering where plasticity fits im in the 3D cad world. Its marketed as CAD for artists. Artists need freedom. And freedom is being able to change things. If you want to do things correctly from the beginning you allready have apps for that. Solidworks, fusion360 etc. @@nikita.kapustin
