You should google some old highlights! The metas back then were a bit crazy, and a lot of them enabled widows to just fully carry games. This resulted in some crazy pine plays. I remember one where he unironically hit a 360 jump headshot onto the enemy widow (taimou) and it wasn’t even a throw play. Fun stuff to watch

Dallas was the pov to watch for June joust. Body Shanghai fun to watch slug it out with Atlanta closer than the score line great match. Top it with a 7 map final that is hyper competitive. I watched the other matches but other than some cherry picked plays pretty dull.

I should say watching the Shanghai Atlanta match there was a premonition moment on numbani where Atlanta went for the pincer on 1st point engage. That start worked really well against Dallas but thanks to fates ball 3rd person they spied it and countered. I knew then that ball was trouble. Sneaky back capping spy ball calling dives. Kind of big brain counter.

Talking about the fuel, I feel like there was a counter comp to the ball stuff that was potentially possible. It would have been the orisa comps with the moira brig back line. But in order to play that, you would need mccree and Pine isn't integrated yet. Would have been crazy if pine or xzi was still in the game. Could totally see xzi rolling fate because of how explosive he was. Plus Hanbin Sigma is top tier if he needs to play it over dva. It would have forced more point play as well, although that neuters Fearless a bit since you are relying on DPS to pop off over aggressive pushes dallas is known for.

I really wish they would represent the western teams more in these minigames. In the May Melee, we had: -the mystery 1v1 between Carpe and Fleta -the zen 1v1 between Alarm and Jjonak -Pharah 1v1 between Sideshow and Yaki In the June Joust we had: -The Jousting Event between NYXL and SHD -Widow 1v1 between Gwangboong, Lip and Pine. Of all these we had Yaki and Pine, and even Pine doesnt really count as he hasnt really joined the league yet. Really wish we saw a western side of these game modes with players like Kai, Birdring and Glister in a western widow 1v1 and players like Violet, Shu and Myunb0ng in the Zen 1v1. There hasnt been enough western recognition in these fun games in my opinion

The widowmaker 1v1 viewing experience is trash but i still like it Joemeister never played any matches, and technically LulSsih(visa hell), Esca(retired before preseason), Adam(dropped in Valiant move), Slur(dropped before season), Smex(medical leave) were all signed to teams and never played a match because they were physically unable to. Mendo, Grimreality, Avast only played in preseason matches. Technically Panker, never played as a 2 way player and Sideshow never played on either of his 2 week contracts
